Just Shawn’s thoughts. What Happened to Hell? December 29, 2009 in Reflections. Just wondering… We hardly hear about hell anymore in the Christian Church. It’s unfashionable, uncomfortable, un-politically correct. It’s fine and well to teach the other major doctrines of the Church. They’re good and solid. God is love 1 John 4:8. We should love God. Love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind Mark 12:30. Of course we should teach that Jesus died for our sins.

Just Shawn’s thoughts. I believe the Bible. Consisting of the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments, to be the verbally inspired, inerrant, and only infallible, authoritative Word of God. I believe that there is one triune God. As revealed in the Bible, eternally existent in the persons of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are one in essence, but distinct in person and function. I believe God the Father is the first person of the trinity. I believe the universe was created, by God.

Can I please have another piece? For as long as I can remember my mother made the same cake every year for my dad’s birthday. A very dense spice cake loaded with raisins, with a brown sugar fudge icing. If one was very careful they could lift the icing from the cake in one whole piece. I perfected that art of icing lifting! Over the years I learned to like the cake, but would still lift the icing and set it to one side, to savor, when the cake part was done. Yesterday was cake day. 1 cup brown sugar.
