http://mrcpretendstobe.blogspot.com/2013/08/a-real-teacher-summer-2013-part-3.html
Mr C Pretends To Be. A blog about substitute teaching. Who Is Mr. C? Monday, August 12, 2013. A "Real" Teacher (Summer 2013 - Part 3). Session 2 of summer school is well underway. I've got 14 American History B students, and one World History student. This is a much smaller and more manageable group than session 1. Recently I overheard two girls arguing about which of them was "more redneck." The deciding factor ultimately balanced upon which of the two hated tofu more. Labels: Being a real teacher.

The Accidental Substitute Teacher: Easy Art Projects to keep kids busy.
http://accidentalsubstituteteacher.blogspot.com/2014/01/easy-art-projects-to-keep-kids-busy.html
The Accidental Substitute Teacher. Wednesday, January 8, 2014. Easy Art Projects to keep kids busy. I sometimes offer a prize if the kids get the project done by the end of the day, with certain instructions of course. You can't give me a sloppy mess and expect a prize. The longest line is super easy and comes out pretty cool. It's even easy enough for Little Firsties. March 24, 2014 at 10:13 PM. Http:/ www.amazon.com/dp/B00ISIG3J8. The Accidental Substitute Teacher: Substitute Teacher Tip - Wear Layers
http://accidentalsubstituteteacher.blogspot.com/2015/02/substitute-teacher-tip-wear-layers.html
The Accidental Substitute Teacher. Monday, February 16, 2015. Substitute Teacher Tip - Wear Layers. You just never know what it's going to be like in a building. Even one you have been in before. I went to one building that is always so hot in the winter that you have to open all of the windows in the classrooms, if you can. I dress accordingly, and have even brought a fan with me in December! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Mr C Pretends To Be. That's Not The Way We Usually Do It!

Mr. C Pretends To Be...: March 2013

Mr C Pretends To Be. A blog about substitute teaching. Who Is Mr. C? Tuesday, March 26, 2013. A Pretend 7th Grade Band Teacher. I subbed for a middle school math teacher today. However, during what would have been my prep hour, I had to cover for a middle school band class. The whole class period involved the kids watching the Original Star Trek episode, The Return of the Archons. They even had a worksheet to fill out as they watched! A Pretend Gym Teacher. The second day was a much smaller gym class, an...

Mr C Pretends To Be. A blog about substitute teaching. Who Is Mr. C? Tuesday, April 30, 2013. A 12th Grade English Teacher. I subbed today in a senior English class. We watched Mary Shelley's Frankenstein. At the same time, there was a strong thunderstorm going on. On more than one occasion, a climatic scene in the film was punctuated by a BOOM. From outside. It was pretty cool. Thursday, April 11, 2013. A Business Education Teacher. I subbed in a business/computer class the other day. I probably should ...

Mr C Pretends To Be. A blog about substitute teaching. Who Is Mr. C? Thursday, November 29, 2012. A High School English Teacher. I subbed in a brand new school today. During my first class, while I was in the middle of taking attendance, a student yelled out, "do you believe in Bigfoot? Later in the same class I was treated to, "if you could be any animal, what would you be? Lastly, for all you "real" teachers out there, please heed these words of wisdom from a friend of mine subbing in Alaska:. Writes a...

http://mrcpretendstobe.blogspot.com/2013/10/harassed.html
Mr C Pretends To Be. A blog about substitute teaching. Who Is Mr. C? Tuesday, October 22, 2013. Well, I'm still alive. I've been a "real" teacher for about a month and a half, and it hasn't killed me. What follows below is heavy on dialog. All of mine is in bold. I had a fun experience a couple days ago. As regular readers might recall, I have taught summer school classes the past three summers. No, mom, don't! I think, " okay. this should be interesting. Hi, can I help you? Do you know who I am? I did a...

The Accidental Substitute Teacher: Substitute Cheat Sheet!
http://accidentalsubstituteteacher.blogspot.com/2013/12/substitute-cheat-sheet.html
The Accidental Substitute Teacher. Thursday, December 26, 2013. This would be a great idea to leave for a teacher, and maybe they will fill it out for the next time! I would add a pull out schedule as well. I hate it when the note, from a first grade teacher says something like, "There are several pull outs during the day. The kids know when and where to go." Sure they do! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Mr C Pretends To Be. That's Not The Way We Usually Do It! Surviving Life as a Substitute Teacher.

The Accidental Substitute Teacher: Interesting ways to take roll....
http://accidentalsubstituteteacher.blogspot.com/2014/05/interesting-ways-to-take-roll.html
The Accidental Substitute Teacher. Tuesday, May 27, 2014. Interesting ways to take roll. I hate taking roll. It's super important for us, but the kids see no value in it and even the best classes can't stay quiet and attentive the entire time. Their only bright spot is getting to take it to the office. Hopefully I see that kid again. I haven't on a few occasions in the upper grades. I was reading the blog "Dr. Jean and Friends". Here are a few starters:. If you were an animal, what would you be? Interest...
