Middle Class Problems: Food Snob Issues

http://www.the35percent.blogspot.com/2012/06/food-snob-issues.html

We are the 35%. Wednesday, June 27, 2012. 1) I don't like the coconut milk at Trader Joe's, and it kind of bugs me that I have to buy what I like at Target. 2) Why don't Trader Joe's and Whole Foods carry instant pudding? 3) Why does Costco only carry non-fat Fage or the one with the sugary toppings? What about something in between? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Watermark template. Powered by Blogger.

Middle Class Problems: February 2012

http://www.the35percent.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html

We are the 35%. Sunday, February 5, 2012. Make Room for Baby. As we prepare for the arrival of Baby Boy, we are running into some space issues. 1) We want to continue living in our expensive little valley, which means he may have to share a room with the computer (not another person.a computer). 2) The crib (made with wood from renewable sources) is just a smidgen long for the wall.so the hubby might have to take off his closet door. Yep I've got problems. Thursday, February 2, 2012. Make Room for Baby.

Middle Class Problems: August 2012

http://www.the35percent.blogspot.com/2012_08_01_archive.html

We are the 35%. Tuesday, August 7, 2012. 1) The clothes I want online won't arrive until after school starts. I'd feel much better having my closet all full and ready before the first day. 2) Nursing tops are, in a word, ugly. I'm on a constant search for cute tops in the non-nursing mothers section that will work for my needs. 3) Costco doesn't sell men's jackets in size small. This seems especially odd given the ethnic make up of my geographic region. Lots of men could use this size.

Middle Class Problems: July 2013

http://www.the35percent.blogspot.com/2013_07_01_archive.html

We are the 35%. Tuesday, July 16, 2013. Being told that your expensive car repairs aren't "real" problems, because they happened to have occurred on the same day as a major world event. Feeling like you can't actually share your frustrations with anyone, because people in the "real" world have worse problems and yours shouldn't matter. Being righteously angry that a tire for your jogging stroller costs 1/3 as much as the whole stroller (and then feeling guilty about your righteous anger).

Pink Cereal and Raspberries: Fun Summer Sides!

http://rebalala.blogspot.com/2013/07/fun-summer-sides.html

Friday, July 26, 2013. My cooking time shrank considerably when my son started walking, and I needed to devise what I call "Mom Meals" (find more Mom Meals. In my quest for the simplest meals, I also discovered some simple, kid and crowd friendly sides. These sides flow well into our summer lifestyle, with less time overall spent in the kitchen, and more time spent talking and playing with friends and family. I found these simple and delicious biscuits on. Many urban farmers find themselves with too many...

Pink Cereal and Raspberries: Mom Meals: Lamb Chops and Seasoned Kale

http://rebalala.blogspot.com/2013/06/mom-meals-lamb-chops-and-seasoned-kale.html

Friday, June 21, 2013. Mom Meals: Lamb Chops and Seasoned Kale. Lamb chops may not come to mind first when thinking of family meals, but at $14.50 for six on sale at my favorite local warehouse store, I couldn't pass up these tasty treats. I searched Epicurious for lamb recipes and landed on something I thought would be perfect, until I looked at it again an hour and a half before dinner and found that the sauce alone would take two hours. Oops. I did another search and came across this gem. Bring stout,...

Sunday, April 13, 2014. For Such a Time. I get to choose the books I review for Bethany House, and this month I was hungry for fiction actually meant for adults. I read oodles and oodles of young adult fiction, but every so often, I need something with a protagonist older than fifteen. Enter For Such a Time. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Pink Cereal and Raspberries: Book Review: 10 Great Dates

http://rebalala.blogspot.com/2013/12/book-review-10-great-dates.html

Wednesday, December 04, 2013. Book Review: 10 Great Dates. Once again, I received a book to review for Bethany House. This time, I selected 10 Great Dates: Connecting Faith, Love, and Marriage. By Peter and Heather Larson and David and Claudia Arp. In this review program, I get to choose what I want to review, and I have been, whether I realized it or not, looking for a way for my husband and I to connect with each other and spiritually. Pink Cereal and Raspberries: Mom Meals: No-Knead Bread

http://rebalala.blogspot.com/2012/10/mom-meals-no-knead-bread.html

Saturday, October 20, 2012. Mom Meals: No-Knead Bread. It's been a hectic few weeks, and adding a camera into the mix at dinner time seemed a bit more than I could handle. Then, I remembered one of my favorite additions to a meal, homemade bread! I have made Smitten Kitchen's No-Knead Bread. The best feature of this bread is that it works as a multi-step process over a couple of days. Adapted from Jim Lahey at the Sullivan Street Bakery via Mark Bittman at New York Times. Yields one 1 1/2 pound loaf.

Pink Cereal and Raspberries: Summer!

http://rebalala.blogspot.com/2013/06/summer.html

Wednesday, June 12, 2013. At long last, summer has arrived, and with it, the desire to start writing again. I will hopefully also return to adding some tried and true recipes, although I must admit that Pinterest stole my interest when it comes to posting favorite recipes. Each evening, when T asks me what I plan to do with myself the next day, I have an answer, and it usually involves a bit of each of my favorite hobbies: running, writing, and taking pictures. Labels: clam the hell down. You Knew Me When.

Pink Cereal and Raspberries: Book Review: Dragonwitch

http://rebalala.blogspot.com/2013/10/book-review-dragonwitch.html

Tuesday, October 01, 2013. Over the summer, I was craving more writing opportunities and stumbled upon Bethany House Publishers Book Review Program. Each month, they send out a list of titles, and writers can request a free copy of the book for review. My first book for review, Dragonwitch. Arrived just a few weeks later. I had been seeking new fantasy titles, and this one, by Anne Elisabeth Stengl. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. Writing Out in the World. You Knew Me When.
