Diary of Faithy, the baker. Monday, February 23, 2015. TBB: Lemon Posset Shortcake. At:Monday, February 23, 2015. WISHING EVERYONE GOOD HEALTH and PROSPERITY! Recipe actually looks more intimidating than it actually is. I made the posset first because it needed time to set. And after making the posset, everything seemed to fall into place quite easily. :) I pour the lemon posset into 3 mini shallow pie dishes.I think if I read correctly, as long as the posset is not above 3/4" should be ok. The in-betwee...

Diary of Faithy, the baker. Monday, July 20, 2015. At:Monday, July 20, 2015. These are super delicious and addictive. Crumbly.and melts-in-mouth. Everyone who tasted it said they were fantastic. I couldn't say the name properly, but after practicing a few times saying it out loud, I am more confident in pronouncing the name of this cookie. I cheated and use Ghee. :p. The entire container supposed to be 400g. But after i chilled it it became 370g. On July 20, 2015 at 9:44 AM said. On July 20, 2015 at 10:0...

I know I have kind of disappeared from blogging world because I was too lazy to blog. But now I'm back! I just received my copy of The Baking Bible! So many wonderful recipes and the book is so thick. Look, isn't the cover gorgeous already? And thank you Rose for acknowledging us Beta Bakers! See my name highlighted in yellow? I don't lose the pounds so easily as before. :(. The Ba...

Diary of Faithy, the baker. Monday, April 27, 2015. At:Monday, April 27, 2015. What can I say? These not just look good but they taste very good too. Especially the Lemon Neoclassic Buttercream - so light and lemony. Pairs perfectly with the lemon butter cookies. You can see I tried other pairings, like nutella and strawberry jam. But nothing beats the lemon buttercream! My husband said it taste better than store bought (Marks &. Spencer) cookies, such big compliment! Enough raving about these cookies.

Baking Tips and Techniques. Cookies, Bars and Brownies. Friday, December 9, 2011. In the mood for Cupcakes - Red Velvet and Chocolate Mud Cupcakes. After two bake-less weeks, it is time to ride on the baking mood. Somehow, I am very much into the making of cupcakes this week. It might come across as a little late for Aspiring Bakers, but I am enjoying myself to the brim nevertheless. So far the count is three, and I have a good feeling the number will be on the rise. Gel colour on hand. I made a astoundi...

Project Cake: Part 7 – Modelling Chocolate Decorations. Modelling chocolate is a wonderful versatile medium. It is made from a combination of chocolate and corn syrup or glucose, and has a similar texture to Tootsie Roll candies. When modelling chocolate is made with dark chocolate, it also has the amazing aroma of cocoa. For any other colour other than dar...

Sharing stories about cake decorating! Written by Rose Warden, cake decorator. Calgary, AB Canada. Cake and Project Gallery. Tools and Equipment (8). Project Cake: Part 8 – Baking, Cutting, Filling and Crumb Coating. Fruit cake unfortunately has a bad reputation. Now good fruit cake is something worth experiencing. Quality fruit cake is made using quality dried fruits, a simple butter pound cake batter, and once baked,. Fruit cake is best served with a layer of almond marzipan and, of course, a cup of tea.

Rose's Alpha Bakers: November 2014

http://rosesalphabakers.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html

Sunday, November 30, 2014. December 1, 2014. How can I make you understand the incredible deliciousness that is the Kouign Amann? Let me try by giving you the reaction of my co-workers when I brought some to work. "Oh, look, Marie stopped at that fancy patisserie in her neighborhood and brought us some treats." "No, you did not make these. I don't believe it." Because they kind of do look pretty professional, don't they? Mise en Place: Note the expensive French butter. It's not necessary to have Fren...

The Amblings and Ramblings of A New Zealand Introvert. One (TOO MANY) Square Meals. February 5, 2015. If you’re wondering where White Rock got it’s name … and the point that marks the beginning of the long ride inland. I rummaged through my back pack for pain killers. One last quick swig and the sheep-poo-OSM was followed by two ibuprofen. Fuck my teeth hurt! Long dusty road back inland after four glorious days on the coast. All misadventures begin with a brilliant idea. Pack light I exclaimed! Wellingto...

Amateur authors writing their first book

Have a great idea for a book? 8220;I firmly believe every book was meant to be written”. About to write an eBook? Or even Audio book? Because now anyone can do this, no matter who you are! Everyone has a story to tell and …. YES, THAT INCLUDES. Let’s face it, self publishing has never been easier! It sounds easy doesn’t it…. Write a book…then sit back and watch the money come in….what better way to earn some extra money! But unfortunately it doesn’t work like that, like many assume. Like I once did).

The Amateur Baker | Tips, tricks and tales of woe in the kitchen

Tips, tricks and tales of woe in the kitchen. The Baker’s Blog. Carrot Cake with Cream Cheese icing. May 1, 2013. Is there anything better than a slice of carrot cake and a cup of tea? A traditional tea-room favourite, carrot cake is easy to make, despite having quite a lot of ingredients. You can add nuts to your mixture- walnuts work well- if you prefer a nuttier cake but I chose to only garnish mine with nuts. Here’s what you’ll need:. 6 flz oz of vegetable oil. 3 whole carrots, finely grated. Divide ...
