Meet with Pastor Dan. This Week With Antioch. April 29, 2012. Bull; 0 Comments. The Apostle John shares with us a moment that is remarkable from chapter 20 of his gospel,. On the evening of that day, the first day of the week, the doors being locked where the disciples were for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood among them and said to them, “Peace be with you.” 20. When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his side. Then the disciples were glad when they saw the Lord. 21. If we are to faith...

Meet with Pastor Dan. This Week With Antioch. The Antioch Movement has three key structures that help us connect up. In, and out. The role of the Huddle is to help us connect “in”. Mike Breen wrote. If you make disciples, you will always get the church. But if you try to build the church, you will rarely get disciples. 8221; The Huddle is the vehicle by which we grow as disciples. Meet with Pastor Dan. This Week With Antioch. The Antioch Movement is a sent. People. It’s who we are. This means, essentially, that we are not looking to build our own kingdom but we want to be engaged in the work that God is doing all around us. Take a moment and check out some of the ways that we are living as a sent community:. Add widgets to this sidebar in the Widgets panel. Under Appearance in the WordPress Admin. Strategy | The Antioch Movement

Meet with Pastor Dan. This Week With Antioch. Focus – Sending. The Antioch Movement in Ypsilanti is one where we have sending as our telos. We are focused on how we move from being far from God to being on mission with God. We realize that discipleship has sending as a necessary end. Therefore, all we do must be reproducible at the micro and macro levels. What we do as a gathered community, we must be able to do as a sent community. Strategy – Saturation. Means – Hospitality. In) This means that the stru...

Meet with Pastor Dan. This Week With Antioch. A natural part of our worship is to give back to the Lord from all that he has given to us. It’s not something that many church communities like to talk about because it’s uncomfortable. The fact of the matter is that everything. Add widgets to this sidebar in the Widgets panel. Subversive Journey: Values - Transfer-ability
http://subversivejourney.blogspot.com/2014/02/values-transfer-ability.html
My subversive journey in trying to figure out how to navigate life, church, culture, and spirituality. Sunday, February 23, 2014. When I was a kid we used to make cool t-shirts from iron on transfers. Dukes of Hazzard and Spider-man provided the coolest transfer options ever. Little did I know that these iron-ons would be the perfect image for launching a church. The second thing we do is spend time in the Scriptures together. As we gather around to engage with God's words to us we ask five questions:.

Subversive Journey: 2012 Post Election Thoughts From A Pastor

My subversive journey in trying to figure out how to navigate life, church, culture, and spirituality. Thursday, November 8, 2012. 2012 Post Election Thoughts From A Pastor. The world will not be changed through electing a man. When the election ended some rejoiced while others despaired. I have seen many state that this election was the most important election in our history. They say this because they believe that the election of a certain man would bring about justice. Some were concerned abou...An on...

Subversive Journey: Connectional?
http://subversivejourney.blogspot.com/2012/06/connectional.html
My subversive journey in trying to figure out how to navigate life, church, culture, and spirituality. Tuesday, June 19, 2012. Popped regarding the future of the PCUSA's connectional system:. The resulting question that was posed by Christianity Today was, "Should denominations be organized geographically." The most prominent published answers that CT showed was "no". Most seemed OK with affinity based connectionalism. The diversity of churches within a geographic reason is a good thing. It forces pa...

My subversive journey in trying to figure out how to navigate life, church, culture, and spirituality. Saturday, February 22, 2014. One of my favorite recent movies is Trouble With the Curve. One of the best moments is when Clint Eastwood talks about "hearing it". Whether it's a hitter or a pitcher, it's about the sound. I wish I could find the exact clip but, this is still pretty amazing. It's all about the pop. I love the pop. Daniel M. Rose. Location: Ypsilanti, MI 48197, USA. Some news popped regardi...

Subversive Journey: I Go To Church
http://subversivejourney.blogspot.com/2014/02/i-go-to-church.html
My subversive journey in trying to figure out how to navigate life, church, culture, and spirituality. Monday, February 24, 2014. I Go To Church. I have had a few friends drop me lines about "Christians". They have landed in two categories of questions. The first, is about Christians who "blindly follow" just because they grew up "going to church". The second is about Christians who think "going to church" is all that's required of them to be "good Christians". Isn't it interesting that during "church" t...

Based on Facebook here is what I know about the debate:. Ken Ham preached the gospel. Bill Nye argued that religion hurts children. Ken Ham didn't really stay on topic. Bill Nye mostly stayed on topic. Ken Ham mocked Bill Nye a little bit. Bill Nye mocked Ken Ham a little bit. Celebrities and athletes are no different than anyone else. If there was a pr...

Subversive Journey: How Can You Do It?

My subversive journey in trying to figure out how to navigate life, church, culture, and spirituality. Wednesday, February 26, 2014. How Can You Do It? When I describe Doubt on Tap to my friends who are Christians they have a couple of standard objections. The first is often about the beer. The second is about how do we "bring the truth to the pagans" that come? First, it's not about the beer. Do we have a beer or two with our conversations? The other thing is that following our conversations I will writ...

Subversive Journey: Thankful for Everything
http://subversivejourney.blogspot.com/2012/07/thankful-for-everything.html
My subversive journey in trying to figure out how to navigate life, church, culture, and spirituality. Monday, July 9, 2012. We just returned from a week of mission in Menifee County, KY, and at Grace Chapel, we just finished a preaching series on stewardship. As I drove home the two collided in my mind and, hopefully, my heart. Our key text was Psalm 24:1, "The earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof, the world and those who dwell therein.". And everyday we were without ultra plush toilet paper.

The Antioch Plan :: A Pioneering Planting Strategy
A pioneering planting strategy. In Acts 11 Luke records the first time believers tried to plant a church amongst the Greeks of Antioch. God blessed their efforts and this church subsequently became a base for cross-cultural ministry to the world. This bold initiative now lends its name to a new pioneer church planting strategy, to be run by Co-Mission. It is a very great privilege to be able to introduce to you the pioneering church planters of the Antioch Plan. Yours in Christ,. Search for 'The Antioch ...
