My journey from heavy to non-smoker using Chantix. Wednesday, October 31, 2007. Day 71, Happy Halloween! In addition to being Halloween today is the two month mark for me. Two months smoke free and I lost track of how long it's been since I took Chantix. (I tapered off and quit the drug before the prescribed twelve weeks.) So far so good! Links to this post. Tuesday, October 30, 2007. Day 70, Hangin in There. Just blocks from my apartment. Otherwise feeling a bit better today but it is still early. I don...

My journey from heavy to non-smoker using Chantix. Friday, February 22, 2008. Day 185, Rain, Rain Go Away. Thankfully the work week is winding down and I am looking forward to a quiet weekend. Despite it being a short week it seemed to drag along. Perhaps it is the rain which has returned to remind us it is still winter. And despite an odd yearning this week which my cocky self had dismissed as impossible I am still smoke free. Today is 175 days quit and $1,312.50 saved. Links to this post. Linking withi...

My journey from heavy to non-smoker using Chantix. Wednesday, September 24, 2008. Thanks to Chantix, GetQuit, a bunch of fellow bloggers. And a lot of old fashioned stubbornness I am now blissfully smoke free for 392 days and saved an estimated $2,940.00 though probably a lot more. Always thrilled and inspired by your continued success. Life is so much easier not trying to live in between "needing" a cigarette. September 26, 2008 at 6:02 PM. September 27, 2008 at 4:28 PM. My journey from heavy to non-smoker using Chantix. Wednesday, December 26, 2007. Day 127, Here We Go Again. Although I am back to work it is very quiet in the office. It appears a fairly large number of people elected to take time off between Christmas and New Years. Lucky devils! It's not so bad though although I did get used to sleeping in. And being generally lazy which explains why there are still no photos from my trip earlier this month. I'll get around to it eventually. Links to this post. Sent vi...

My journey from heavy to non-smoker using Chantix. Friday, August 31, 2007. Day 10, So Far So Good. I am enjoying continued progress with the goal of tapering. Nine cigarettes all day! That is a new record. Another was a four hour period between cigarettes during the day - unheard of. I was busy working and when I normally would take one of those reward breaks I thought "why bother? I'm increasingly convinced I can do this. Links to this post. Thursday, August 30, 2007. For example I've never sat in nor considered it but I believe I know what it is like to drive the obscenely expensive. Twenty seven days smoke free, $203.00 saved according to GetQuit. Get Quit" reminded me that one year ago today I started my Chantix journey. And what a ride it was, too. (I advise caution mixing Chantix, anti-depressants, and alcohol. Whew! Anyway, a year later I am Chantix, anti-depressant AND smoke free. How's that for a success story? Oh, and I've saved a whopping $2,670.00! Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

My journey from heavy to non-smoker using Chantix. Thursday, July 31, 2008. One Month and Counting. Today marks 335 days smoke free. I've managed to pick up a nasty bug and feel just awful. My journey from heavy to non-smoker using Chantix. Friday, August 29, 2008. T-Minus 3 and counting. How very, very awesome. Will you be doing something to celebrate? August 29, 2008 at 10:33 PM. I am on day 63 of quitting, day 76 of Chantix. Not a lot of side effects, occasional 10 minute nausea, vivid dreams, and an overall feeling of angst. I am normally a very positive person, and I just keep telling myself it is temporary. Keep up the good work. August 31, 2008 at 5:10 PM. September 2, 2008 at 8:40 AM.
