shanghai shenanigans: To-do list:
http://onemillionbicycles.blogspot.com/2009/09/to-do-list.html
So i occasionally come across things that seem really fun to do but haven't had the opportunity to try. does that count as spontaneous when you finally do it? Anyhoo, here is a list of "spontaneous" things i would like to do when i DO have the time. i have been listing them in my head for the longest time. here's putting them down before i forget. 1 making home-made bubble solution and setting the bubbles free in the park! 2 shop for an exquisite chinese tea set. Shop for cute dinnerware. Words, a blog.

shanghai shenanigans: photo shoot
http://onemillionbicycles.blogspot.com/2009/09/photo-shoot.html
Recently we decided we should take our wedding photos in Shanghai. After all, it IS the place where we had met, lived in and shared many memories. Even after enquiries, we still felt that it was too early to take the photos, so we're going to do it next spring. However, being the little excited bunny that I am, I started daydreaming about the locations and shoots. Ideas J doesn't know about my excitement and he will definitely think me crazy. BUT BUT BUT i definitely do want to try. What a crazy mix.

Time to upload some nice photos of hangzhou:. On the train ride, into the sunset, towards hangzhou. the train journey was 1 and a half hours long. it was relatively clean, but we had paid the most expensive tickets (88 yuan for a return ticket) so it was to be expected. Drunken live shrimps anyone? My favourite picture of all time: the sickly-sweet smelling lotus. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Words, a blog. How to plant sweet peas. So herman grew up. And ate 4 of my tetras, including my favourite One-Eyed Jack. . Now let's see what else should I get for my tank. Scraps for a bag. Used some old scraps from my hoodie and thai fisherman pants to make this for my sisters. i owe them presents for their 21st birthday this year :P the fabric on the outside is flannel-like material (i think) and i've lined it with linen. It feels hardy, and i'm pretty sure it'll last because i've hemmed in all the edges so no frays! Let the fun begin!

Shanghai in a nutshell. If you want to get your clothes made. Go to the Shanghai South Bund Soft-Spinning Material Market on 陆家浜路 (南仓街口). If you want to shop for cheap and/or counterfeit stuff. To look arty farty. Visit 莫干山路 for rows after rows of art galleries. or the Museum of Contemporary Arts (MOCA) which has cool exhibitions from time to time. To have coffee in nice nooks and crannies. To find second hand goods. Try 老西门 (which was where i went today, and spurred me to list these places down). So wit...

Is the first book that i've finished in the year 2009. i find it oddly comforting and coincidental that i should have started the year with a book about a woman's journey towards self discovery and self awareness. or should i say that there isn't such a thing a pure coincidence. 160;because i believe that everything happens for a reason. the book reverberates my desire for fulfillment and balance in my life, and to learn to appreciate and give thanks when they are achieved. . Some friends that have read ...

Do people dream of electric blankets? Winter sounds so much more manageable with the new electric blanket i just bought. i laid it out excitedly on my bed, turned it up to "high" and jumped into bed half an hour later. ooh! It was heaven and simply divine to just roll around in my bed. no more tension neckaches from frozen stiff sleeping postures. say goodbye to drying heaters. the electric blanket is my newest best friend. :). Birthday princess turns 3! Little rabbit foo-foo on a treasure hunt! And then...

Project purple shawl: complete. It turned out really BIG but so beautiful! Let's see if i can make them on time for this year's christmas presents! So many things, too little time! Ok so the reading comes to a stop, and the wedding planning has waned a little. everything comes to a standstill till i finish knitting my darn shawl! Can you repeat that? So the second lesson came around, and everyone proceeded to learn how to CROCHET a hat! What happened to knitting? I have only been knitting squares! But i ...
