But fear not, the Holiday Season is nearly here, and I'm sure there'll be lots of extra blogging time between the egg nog and the, um whatever else is associated with the Holiday Season. Oh yeah! 160;I remember now. Links to this post. Sunday, November 2, 2008. What can be said about this photograph? Then they put in the trimester block schedule. I can't blame the schedule this time, though. Maybe it's me. Will be pe...

Infinite Perspectives: April 2006

An evolving history of crafting an ArtSpark Creation. Wednesday, April 19, 2006. Days off make Travis something something. It also gives some space to think about what ArtSpark is and what ArtSpark could become. But what COULD it be in five years? In his goodbye post Scott Walters over at Theatre Ideas. In the course of summing up his theatre manifesto states:. I think this is exceptionally true (that's right - I'm ignoring truth's binary nature). Friday, April 14, 2006. The ankle bone's connected to the.

From Rookie to Professional. Laquo; That I can tell you in a word… Tradition! In which Scott lays the Smackdown on McPsycho. Good things come to those who wait. 8220;Good morning, everyone,” she chimes. She looks around. “Who would like to perform their homework assignment first? I had a bad feeling about this. A very bad feeling. Nobody moves. Nobody knows what the homework assignment actually is. A very bad feeling. 8220;How about you? 8221; McPsycho is staring at me. 8221; McPsycho exclaims. Act like ...

Here There be Whales: New Stories
http://heretherebewhales.blogspot.com/2008/03/new-stories.html
Here There be Whales. This is not just some hipster's online diary. This is a whole other kind of ephemera. Sunday, March 09, 2008. I've put up a couple of new stories on the Stories I Tell. Blog This semester, I'm taking two seminars that are fairly heavy on writing, one with David Plante. And the other with Kelly Link. The second piece, "Cyril Shot: Private Eyes". Also, as an aside, my long-time friend, Miranda. Has put up a blog. Check it out. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). The Other Matthew Rossi.

Here There be Whales. This is not just some hipster's online diary. This is a whole other kind of ephemera. Saturday, December 29, 2007. Aside from not writing, I've been enjoying my time off from classes. I've shuttled back and forth between here and Philly a couple of times, spent days hanging around with old friends, drunk enough coffee to bathe an infant. And there's at least three weeks left for adventuring and so much to see. Wednesday, December 19, 2007. What do you read? It's a sin, frankly, beca...

Here There be Whales: Experimental Skillet

Here There be Whales. This is not just some hipster's online diary. This is a whole other kind of ephemera. Sunday, March 02, 2008. One of my more interesting classes this semester is a course in experimental writing with David Plante. The original title for the class was "The Short Story," but basically every class David Plante teaches that isn't workshop becomes experimental writing. Which is lovely, actually, since it's had me writing a great deal without worrying too much about what I'm saying. Enjoy...

Here There be Whales. This is not just some hipster's online diary. This is a whole other kind of ephemera. Sunday, July 29, 2007. Not Dead, I Swear. Sorry for the long hiatus. I have no good excuse, except that, what with the impending move, I've been suffering from a bit of verbal paralysis. I've noticed this about myself: when I get stressed, I tend to freeze up on the writing front a bit. That's a great trait for a guy about to enter graduate school for writing. Anyway, it's kept me from writing.

Quip Obama wants to raise taxes, the Republicans want to lower them. Now read this comparison. I just read my friend Bonnie's blog. And I think she's pretty spot-on about who Sarah Palin reminds me of:. Yep Spot on. Beyond just the looks, the comparison's are pretty impressive. I mean, except for the tax plans. Anyway, here's the speech. Both text and video. Enjoy. What ...

Here There be Whales: Pink

Here There be Whales. This is not just some hipster's online diary. This is a whole other kind of ephemera. Tuesday, January 08, 2008. Every night before my mother made dinner, my father would pull a copper skillet out from behind all of the other pans and wave it over the other kitchenware in an act of ritual blessing. The food processor, the stick blender, the metal and rubber spatulas, the Japanese knives that promised to julienne a tin can should we ever choose to include one in a salad, and so forth.
