TheBookGoddess

Thursday, August 30, 2007. What a trip. I'm so glad I participated and actually finished, with a few minutes to spare. There were some things that I was already familiar with, but on the whole, I learned so much that it's hard to put into words. I have a blog for my Middletown Genies group, but I think I understand more now about how to use it, and I've had training on Overdrive and NetLibrary. I would definitely participate again. It just goes to show you, you can teach "old dogs" new tricks. If...I thi...

TheBookGoddess: Week 9 - You Tube, Podcasts, etc...

http://www.thebookgoddess.blogspot.com/2007/08/week-9-you-tube-podcasts-etc.html

Wednesday, August 29, 2007. Week 9 - You Tube, Podcasts, etc. Well, when I saw that there was an American Bandstand 50th Anniversary on You Tube, I just had to check it out. Very cool! I watched Bandstand every day after school as a kid and longed to be on with all the cool dancers (I even knew all their names). But, I was too young, and it seemed like forever until I would turn 14. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Http:/ www.familysearch.org. Http:/ www.WaterforPeople.com. Week 8 - Tools.

TheBookGoddess: June 2007

http://www.thebookgoddess.blogspot.com/2007_06_01_archive.html

Wednesday, June 27, 2007. Oh, my. Catching up on technology. After an interesting tour of Flickr, I feel totally inadequate. It's amazing what's "out there.". I looked at the third party mashups and found the Photo Greeting Card and the Trip Planner to be very useful. I may be able to put some genealogy items of interest of The Middletown genies blog now. TheBookGoddess: Week 8 - Tools

http://www.thebookgoddess.blogspot.com/2007/08/week-8-tools.html

Friday, August 24, 2007. Week 8 - Tools. I chose Google Docs and made a test document. This is way cool! I noticed many of the things we've already explored are on the Awards list - like Library Thing (which I love), Technorati and GoogleDocs. I think GoogleDocs can be very useful to staff, especially if we're working on committees or projects. Of course, Library Thing is one of my favorite finds. I'm still investigating Technorati.
