A picture is worth a thousand words: August 2011

http://www.thebovenkampfamily.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html

A picture is worth a thousand words. Stuff I like to look at. Wednesday, August 24, 2011. We started our school year a little early this year, not because we were so excited to start (as we have been in past years) but because we are going on vacation in September, so it can't hurt to be a little ahead. For math for him this year. We tried it out at the end of last year and it made such a difference in his attitude, it's worth every penny. :). History (which we love) and the kids played Monopoly Jr.

A picture is worth a thousand words. Stuff I like to look at. Sunday, October 31, 2010. This post was actually started last year, but my camera ran out of batteries mid story so we never finished it. I'm posting what we did , maybe we will finish it someday.(knowing how I do project. Don't count on it) :). Long, long ago, in the land of England. There was a king. I have servants to do everything for me.I'm bored! I know, I'll have a tournament! Royal cook, you must prepare a big feast for the King.".

A picture is worth a thousand words. Stuff I like to look at. Thursday, July 14, 2011. Ava's 5th birthday (part 1). Happy birthday to our big girl :). Ava is our "just so" child. On her bed there are about 30 stuffed animals that she sleeps with every night, she has too have them arranged "just so" before she can go to bed. She is the only child that the dentist said brushes her teeth really well. She loves to learn and do schoolwork, and has just started kindergarten. Her nickname from Dad is "Peanut".

Tidbits of Life in Bug: November 2008

http://tidbitsoflifeinbug.blogspot.com/2008_11_01_archive.html

Tidbits of Life in Bug. Saturday, November 22, 2008. Holly's birthday and a trip to Portland! Our 3-year-old is growing up sooo fast! We celebrated her birthday on Sunday, since Steve was going to Portland for his work on Monday. On Monday morning, we decided to go with Steve on his trip to Portland that afternoon (with almost all expenses paid, how could we resist? Here's the finished product:. Saturday, November 15, 2008. Harvestfest is always a hit with the kids! Can you tell this is Steve's mom?

Tidbits of Life in Bug. Monday, June 16, 2008. Joel's birthday and a logging show. Steve and I decided to work on planning more day outings for the kids this summer, since we haven't really been able to take a family vacation for quite a few years. On Joel's birthday last Saturday we tried a truly western experience, a logging show! Can you see the guys climbing the 70 ft. poles below with their logging gear? They were amazingly fast and flew down so quickly too. Monday, June 9, 2008. Wednesday, June 4, ...

Tidbits of Life in Bug: December 2008

http://tidbitsoflifeinbug.blogspot.com/2008_12_01_archive.html

Tidbits of Life in Bug. Saturday, December 27, 2008. There are two other tractors and a big road grader in the neighborhood, but their owners don't feel inclined to help out at all. Holly got a new bottle for her doll. Marie was present, bodily at least. Christmas get-together with Steve's family. These pics are frames from my new Flip camcorder (Steve and I agreed not to do gifts for each other, and then he bought me a great little camcorder). Thursday, December 18, 2008. In front of our house. We've be...

Tidbits of Life in Bug: November 2009

http://tidbitsoflifeinbug.blogspot.com/2009_11_01_archive.html

Tidbits of Life in Bug. Saturday, November 14, 2009. Emily's cupcakes for Harvestfest. Steve was a pretty good sport about wearing a costume that I found. He was supposed to be Moses, but the beard and mustache didn't last long, and he wore pants and a shirt underneath the robe, and he didn't want to wear sandals and carry a staff. Oh well :) Someone said he looked like Led Zeppelin, LOL. Jenna was a bit wary of him. Steph, Danielle, Beth, Megan, Lydia, Laura and Emily. One of the many pumpkins!

Tidbits of Life in Bug. Sunday, May 23, 2010. Dave and Heather's wedding. Don't fall off your chair. Yes, we're still alive here! I've always been meaning to keep blogging; so sorry about the break there, but things have been really busy at our house. We're almost finished the house we've been renovating, so hopefully we'll have our lives back now :). Dave and Heather's wedding was beautiful! Emily and Laura were guest-book attendants. Steve's mom and grandma. No peck on the cheek here. Ashley was the MC.

Tidbits of Life in Bug: September 2009

http://tidbitsoflifeinbug.blogspot.com/2009_09_01_archive.html

Tidbits of Life in Bug. Wednesday, September 16, 2009. With summer, that is :) We're enjoying these last bits of sun and warmth here and there, because the nights are telling us it's already fall. We went to Clear Lake Beach a few days ago with Shalom and family, and it was hot and we had the whole place to ourselves. The kids went canoeing all day with some of Shalom's kids and Esther, and had so much fun! Tired out after a long day of swimming. Holly didn't even make it all the way up the stairs! We di...

Tidbits of Life in Bug. Tuesday, July 15, 2008. My parents are here. And they brought beautiful weather with them! Child labor at its finest, ha ha. I guess sturdy Dutch kids are good for something :). We never tire of visiting Washington Park, always so beautiful. There were lots of blueberries and salmonberries to pick. Mount Baker in the background! Saturday, July 5, 2008. Holly repeated her swelling reaction from last year almost exactly to the day, poor thing. This time it was on both her legs n...

Tidbits of Life in Bug. Tuesday, October 20, 2009. Great Wolf Lodge water. I don't clean with bleach very often, but a few days ago I was using it. Holly sniffed, and said, "Mommy, you are using Great Wolf Lodge water! Nice that she can associate such an unpleasant smell with such fun memories :). Ways Marie exhibits her wacky and weird personality. This is not an unusual sight. Jenna must have been pretty tired. It was so cute to see her rest her head on the table! Emily's 3rd cake. Any ideas? Gardens a...

Tidbits of Life in Bug. Wednesday, August 19, 2009. Not one, but TWO fairs this year! Kind of overkill, I know, but it was fun. We certainly are blessed! We joined up with Jenn and kids at the smaller local fair without Steve on the free day. The kids had lots of fun looking at and holding the animals. Now I'm hearing a lot of pleading about getting an animal. "A bunny, Mommy? OK, then how about a cat? Sooo many cute baby bunnies! Baby chicks. they got to watch some of them hatch. Nice hair, Bobby! Tidbits of Life in Bug. Sunday, December 13, 2009. Back to Great Wolf Lodge! The kids aren't tired of it yet! We get a half-off discount through our homeschool group, and one room sleeps all of us, so it's a really good deal. Jenna took a long nap in the water. She feels pretty secure! On our way home we stopped at Cabella's. what a neat place! Looks really fun, I would love to go sometime! December 13, 2009 at 11:02 PM. Hey I didnt know that Cabellas was that big!
