The Bushies

Tuesday, 9 September 2014. Not sure about the apostrophe, sure someone will correct me. I was lucky to be treated to a special father's day this year. I was woken up by Theo wishing me happy father's day and giving me cards and gifts. I was allowed to go for a jog which I haven't had time to do for a while. Then home to a delicious home made breakfast. The train runs once an hour and just runs along about 5km of line. It's pretty old and rickety and so takes a while. The train tickets are valid all day.

The Bushies: April 2013

http://thebushiesblog.blogspot.com/2013_04_01_archive.html

Wednesday, 17 April 2013. Another catch up blog, starting around Easter. Jackie worked over Easter but had the Sunday off. I was on duty all weekend. Theo and I had fun, even if the weather was miserable. We made a couple of batches of hot cross buns this year. Theo helped with mixing the ingredients, and eating the buns! This was our first batch the week before Easter, looked great but needed more fruit and flavour, were still pretty good though. Theo helping out on the second batch on Good Friday.

The Bushies: Settling in

http://thebushiesblog.blogspot.com/2014/05/settling-in.html

Saturday, 17 May 2014. We've had a busy month settling in to our new home and exploring our new country. Theo continues to develop his domestic skills, he's probably due for a haircut soon though, don't you think? As with last year, Theo and I made hot cross buns for Easter. They weren't that flash this year, flavour was a bit bland and they were a bit solid. Apricot jam glaze made them yummy though. We didn't get a chance to use the bbq. We did play a bit of table tennis though. For ANZAC weekend we wen...

The Bushies: April 2014

http://thebushiesblog.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html

Monday, 7 April 2014. I'm drinking my coffee nicely. A couple of weeks ago Jackie went to London to become a British citizen. Theo and I held the fort here in Hamilton New Zealand. In the mornings Theo went to preschool while I went to work. In the afternoons we had fun. Something we did quite a bit of was visiting cafes. Theo enjoyed this and was very good at drinking his coffee nicely. Some other stuff we did included. Saying goodbye to mum at the airport. Doing the vacuuming, dishes and cooking dinner.

The Bushies: March 2014

http://thebushiesblog.blogspot.com/2014_03_01_archive.html

Friday, 14 March 2014. Back on the blog wagon. It's been a long time between blogs, we keep meaning to get back in to it to tidy up a few stories from London and to document our transition to Hamilton but we've been so busy it just hasn't happened. So today Jackie flew back to London to pick up her British Citizenship. It was a big decision to go through the process of applying for citizenship for Jackie and to fly her back to do the ceremony but it give us so many more options for our future. The best t...

The Bushies: July 2013

http://thebushiesblog.blogspot.com/2013_07_01_archive.html

Monday, 22 July 2013. Hopefully we won't be saying goodbye with a bullet. Three months from today I will be starting my new job at the University of Waikato. I'm really excited about the job and we're all excited about moving back to NZ, even to Hamilton! We're very much in countdown mode now with lists popping up all over the place. There will be lots of reminiscing over the coming months and I expect the blog will reflect this. That is presuming I can get around to writing some proper posts.

Small Man With Van. Crawling Through Europe (A toddler's view of life on the road). About Mum and Dad. Things which Changed Our Lives. Tuesday, 12 January 2016. Goodnight. Good Morning. My dear friend Kaviya came. I have known her since I was at playgroup in London. She held my hand as soon as I saw her at the airport. We played a lot together. Mainly ringing Dr. Barber up and then playing Goodnight and Goodmorning. I got fed up of being made to pose for photographs. Food on your face. A day in Mijas.

You cannot stay on the summit forever.Denia, Moraira and Albir. And so we left our mountain and came down to the sea. At Denia. Daddy found a fabulous parking spot right by the sea. We had a palm tree over the van which rustled when we lay in bed. Denia was a lovely town. With its ceramic blue Moorish dome and it's palms. It was miles away.

Small Man With Van. Crawling Through Europe (A toddler's view of life on the road). About Mum and Dad. Things which Changed Our Lives. Mummy and Daddy love travelling. Their last trip was 2006-2007 when they blogged about travelling South East Asia overland; mostly on motorbike. So they decided when I was 2 in 2014 to rent everything out and buy a camper van and set off again. How about the last time your wheels had their alignment checked? Though not many people really pay attention to their tires, without functional tires you and your vehicle can suffer. Balancing the wheels on your vehicle is not something you can do on your own. A technician uses a specialized balancing machine to measures the weight around the axle to a...
