The Chamonix Bike Book was put together by a loose collective of riders, photographers, writers and bloggers called the Chamonix Collective. With help from some very talented individuals. The background text, introductions, descriptions and step-by-step ridethroughs were done by Tom Wilson-North, who wrote the first Mountain Bike Guide to Chamonix in 2008. The eye-catching and clear design of the book was done by Angus Paterson at Sluff Media. From their studio in Chamonix. And MTB photo guru Dan Milner.

As of writing, an Arrête Municipale (n 124/2004) bylaw is in place restricting mountain biking to a certain handful of authorized trails in the Chamonix Valley during the months of July and August. Matt Hunter Tours Mont Blanc. We met Matt Hunter and his support team/film crew when they came to Chamonix at the end of summer 2012. They were really well prepared for their adventure around Mont Blanc. We got on, gave them a little local beta and left them with a few copies of the Chamonix Bike Book. Here is the video from their trip – and if you look closely in the intro, you’ll see the book make a small cameo in the introduction as the camera zooms down on the Specialized book.

The Chamonix valley has a reasonably efficient bus system that connects the accommodation and riding areas. Most riders use the lift, trail and road network to get around the valley, taking the train where necessary, but in 2012 the local bus company introduced a limited Bike Bus service which serves the valley in July and August.
