Cassie-isms | Farm Blog

Cassie and Scott run a small organic farm in one of the most dangerous cities in California, Richmond. If we can create a small farm with chickens, rabbits, turkeys and tons of vegetables in this backyard, you can do it too! I am going to chronicle all the funny, irreverant crap that flies out of my mouth! 1 My response to Urban Farm Magazine’s inquiry as to how one deals with neighbor conflicts was “I started waving my gun around. It’s been quiet here for two years.”. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Happy H...

Cassie and Scott run a small organic farm in one of the most dangerous cities in California, Richmond. If we can create a small farm with chickens, rabbits, turkeys and tons of vegetables in this backyard, you can do it too! This slideshow requires JavaScript. February 4, 2011 at 7:02 pm. We have a building in Richmond and our friends who are staying there are thinking of raising egg-laying chickens and an organic garden. How many chickens can you legally keep in your backyard? Please advise and thanks!

Zone Nine: Philodendron Congo Rojo

http://zone-nine.blogspot.com/2013/05/philodendron-congo-rojo.html

Skip to main (ir a principal). Skip to sidebar (ir al sidebar). Chronicles of growing plants in Northern California - USDA Zone 9 (Sunset Zone 14). Tuesday, May 28, 2013. I bought this plant at Home Depot without really knowing what it was. But I really liked the bright red on the stems, and it looked like it was about to bloom (see an even brighter red flower pod was at the base of the plant). Today I'm putting it outside to get a shot of sunlight (though not direct). Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Zone Nine: Azalea in bloom

http://zone-nine.blogspot.com/2013/08/azalea-in-bloom.html

Skip to main (ir a principal). Skip to sidebar (ir al sidebar). Chronicles of growing plants in Northern California - USDA Zone 9 (Sunset Zone 14). Saturday, August 24, 2013. I got this plant for free from the lobby of the building I worked in over a year ago. I repotted it last fall because it needed to be watered almost daily the soil was so filled with roots. Since then it's done very well and is now blooming in its south-facing window with filtered light. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Zone Nine: June 2013

http://zone-nine.blogspot.com/2013_06_01_archive.html

Skip to main (ir a principal). Skip to sidebar (ir al sidebar). Chronicles of growing plants in Northern California - USDA Zone 9 (Sunset Zone 14). Wednesday, June 5, 2013. This weekend I helped my mom repot her empty (or sad) planters, she needed a refresh before a shindig she was having. I love how the color combo on this one turned out especially because the pansy has just enough yellow to tie into the yellow patio furniture next to the pot. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Skip to main (ir a principal). Skip to sidebar (ir al sidebar). Chronicles of growing plants in Northern California - USDA Zone 9 (Sunset Zone 14). Lots of Dec 30th blooms. Friday, February 13, 2015. It's been a pretty mild winter temperature-wise in Northern California. Here are some of the blooms from today, Dec 30th, when we got our first light frost. Nicotiana, and petunias holding in there. Close up of safe growing up out of the lipstick plant. Daffodils are starting to bloom. My Pale Green Thumb.

Skip to main (ir a principal). Skip to sidebar (ir al sidebar). Chronicles of growing plants in Northern California - USDA Zone 9 (Sunset Zone 14). Friday, May 1, 2015. I got this iris corm along with 3 others, at least 3, but maybe 4 years ago at a shop in apple hill, near placerville. It's been in a small gallon container that whole time spouting leaves each year then dying back in the winter. It has finally bloomed, not just a single bloom but three! Bloom two april 24. My Pale Green Thumb.
