Pennsylvania Spice Cabinet – Part II. Posted by WingNut Workshop. On February 6, 2012 · Leave a Comment. The first, and one of the most important things was the layout. I based my shelf spacing off the plan from the PopWoodworking article, but adjusted slightly since my cabinet is about 1″ taller. Next, I chiseled out the end of the dado to make room for the toe of the saw. After laying out all the dados for the shelves, it was on to the dividers. Again layout is critical. In this case it’s...Enter your ...

Intro to Blogging | Wing-Nut Workshop

Posted by WingNut Workshop. On January 17, 2012 · 1 Comment. So why am I starting a blog? Well…by nature I like to learn and what’s even better is when I can teach others the things I’ve learned along my journey. Hopefully this blog will achieve both. Now in all likelihood, you won’t learn anything new or mind-blowing here, and if you do than I must have really screwed something up! So what’s with the name? So thanks for taking time to check this out and please feel free to comment or ask questions.

Pennsylvania Spice Cabinet Part III: Bracket Feet and Moulding. Posted by WingNut Workshop. On February 28, 2012 · 3 Comments. All my previous projects, I had something to go off of, but this was my baby to screw up. I sure do wish Matt Bickford would come out with his moulding book already so I had more to go on…oh well. Anyway, on Twitter advice from the Renaissance WW, I just went for it. We’ll see how it goes…. But I was amazed I even did this right.). This process is the same for all four feet….

Pennsylvania Spice Cabinet – Part I. Posted by WingNut Workshop. On January 23, 2012 · Leave a Comment. Let me start this post by saying, if anyone has a cure for Woodworking A-D-D, let me know. This project, nor the inlay tools I’ll need later in the build, were not even on my radar. But I had alot of fun making mouldings for the Tea Caddy. And when I saw Megan Fitzpatrick’s Spice Box I suddenly had the urge to make it right away. Oh well…. I made these with a skew rabbet plane and it only took about 5 ...

Short Bus Woodworking: Famous Last Words (and Dining Table)
http://shortbuswoodworking.blogspot.com/2012/07/famous-last-words-and-dining-table.html
An insight into my wwing adventures. Friday, July 6, 2012. Famous Last Words (and Dining Table). Well, since my last post I have change jobs, bought two new cars, and my wife was away visiting her family for a month. So needless to say shop time was non-existent. But now that I’m getting settled into my new job and my wife has returned, I was able to get back into the shop. So far I have completed the base of the dining table and glued-up the top. No reason except it just seemed to look better. At this p...

Short Bus Woodworking: August 2012
http://shortbuswoodworking.blogspot.com/2012_08_01_archive.html
An insight into my wwing adventures. Tuesday, August 28, 2012. Dining Table - Finished. As you can see the Dining Table is finished. As always it took more time than estimated, but it turned out alright. The top was dyed with General Finishes Antique Cherry and the maple legs were left natural. The finish I used was my go-to General Finish’s Arm-a-Seal. I used about 3 coats of gloss followed by two coats of satin. While this was simple build, it did have some challenges due to the size of the parts.
