Ramblings of Doug: Sometimes running is hard, or easy. Why?
http://ramblingsofdoug.blogspot.com/2015/07/sometimes-running-is-hard-or-easy-why.html
My running and healthy living blog. Monday, 20 July 2015. Sometimes running is hard, or easy. Why? Last Saturday evening I went for an amazing run with so many fantastic ingredients and yet it has thrown up a question: sometimes running is hard, or easy. Why? It could simply be a case of "that's the way it is". Other possible factors could include how well hydrated I am, nutrition inside me, blood sugar levels etc. And then there is the mental, thought-based side. What are my expectations? How eager am I?

Ramblings of Doug: What have I been up to?
http://ramblingsofdoug.blogspot.com/2015/06/what-have-i-been-up-to.html
My running and healthy living blog. Monday, 29 June 2015. What have I been up to? My apologies for neglecting my blog a little lately. Here's a few things keeping me well occupied:. My work in the criminal justice system has always been demanding and it never seems to let up. I do like the variety and I like doing little projects in addition to having responsibility for a small team of fantastic colleagues. I feel privileged. My long runs remain along the tow path of the Grand Union canal, while my young...

Cloudwiz: Cirrus Uncinus
http://cloudwiz.blogspot.com/2013/07/cirrus-uncinus_15.html
Monday, 15 July 2013. We were all amazed by this wonderful display of clouds overhead. It was early evening and we'd just finished our evening meal outside on our patio - this is a rare thing to do in the British summers over recent years! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Cycling in Essex: November 2014
http://cyclinginessex.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Just some of my cycle rides around the county. Monday, 17 November 2014. Then dumped onto the road followed my a lot of pain! Amongst the chaos that followed I heard a woman voice saying `I didn`t see him` that explains everything I was a victim of SMIDSY. My main injuries were fractures to my left shoulder, right heel and a few ribs also on my right side. Things could have been much worst if I hadn`t been wearing my helmet! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Cycling in Essex: Update number three
http://cyclinginessex.blogspot.com/2015/10/update-number-three.html
Just some of my cycle rides around the county. Thursday, 29 October 2015. Still no cycling for me yet though I`m now spinning the old legs each day on an exercise bike, which my neighbour was just about to throw out! It in very good condition too, so I suppose it was just one of those lets get fit moments and then found it hard-work! Hope (keeping my fingers cross here) to be back cycling again in Spring 2016. Here`s the exercise bike and so far I`ve done 200 miles on it in three weeks. The 2 wheeled wolf.

Cycling in Essex: August 2014
http://cyclinginessex.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html
Just some of my cycle rides around the county. Sunday, 17 August 2014. I found it a bit chilly around the old knees at first as I set off on the Rory at 6am but I soon warmed up, with the Sun playing peek-a-boo with the clouds and for much of the day too. My destination? I made my way to Bicknacre and on to the B1418 and once over the roundabout a very short stretch on the A414 before turning into (this always makes me smile) Tom Tit Lane! Paper Mill Lock and Weir. After a few more lanes I rode for about...

Cycling in Essex: June 2016
http://cyclinginessex.blogspot.com/2016_06_01_archive.html
Just some of my cycle rides around the county. Tuesday, 14 June 2016. Onboard the Raleigh again this morning for a 06.45 start and I was heading to the Civic Hall, Blackshots Lane, Grays for the annual Thurrock Cycle Marathon. But I wasn`t taking part myself, just going along to meet up with club mates I`ve not seen for awhile. It was a warm and overcast morning and for some reason I was wearing arm-warmers and tudor longs! After saying my goodbyes I headed for home retacing my route out, but those arm w...

Cycling in Essex: May 2016
http://cyclinginessex.blogspot.com/2016_05_01_archive.html
Just some of my cycle rides around the county. Tuesday, 10 May 2016. I retrace my route back to reach home at around 07.30 with just 9 miles done, but it was good to be back in the saddle again. The Raleigh outside The Vistitors Centre/Cafe with it new seating area. Sunday, 1 May 2016. Had to stop my daily exercise routine a few times when I was unwell, but since October 2015 the exercise bike has clocked-up 3,100 miles. Shame I can`t put that in My Cycle Log! Cycling in Essex: Update number four
http://cyclinginessex.blogspot.com/2016/01/update-number-four.html
Just some of my cycle rides around the county. Sunday, 24 January 2016. Still no cycling for me but feeling so much better these days. My shoulder and heel will never be right and will always have some stiffness in them. Also been told I`m at 100% risk of getting arthrits in them when I get older, thought I was already old? Occasionally pain in my shoulder just reminds me that I can`t do some of the things I used to do! Happy and Safe Cycling in 2016 to all my readers. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Cloudwiz: Rainbow
http://cloudwiz.blogspot.com/2013/08/rainbow.html
Saturday, 3 August 2013. It is always a joy to see a rainbow, especially when it's complete. A reminder from God that he will never completely flood the world again - his promise following the account of Noah and the ark. If you look very. Carefully, you can see a second, outer, rainbow forming. On this occasion nothing much happened with the second rainbow, or at least from where I was at the time. There hadn't been any rain locally but I guess there would have been a good shower nearby.
