I simply bought three yards of House ware fabric and cut it to a piece 58' by 28' i then folded the two short sides over a 1/4 of an inch and stitched them. I then Folded the top edge over about an inch (eyeballed) and stitched it down, i wanted to make sure i would have enough room to pull the Safety pin with the draw string through! This technique is embossing an image in clear on a white core black tag, then using a handheld sandingblock sand away the black paper untill you achieve the desired look, then using the distress inks and an applicator tool, you will simply add color in the desired areas.*If too much color is added simply sand more until you have removed the excess color). Newest project. making my vintage quilted leather case into a faux Louis Vuitton for college. i painted the "W' and the Icons on the front and back in gold leafing paint and then on the inside i relined it and built a pocket out of some vintage velvet that i found that was my Grand Mothers. my love of Antiques and vintage come from here so every time i use it i can think of her! This first project I used a sheet of Bazzill cardstock to create the base of the cute card holder and inside there are five coordinating cards. Saturday, February 26, 2011. Where does the time go. My Uncle Francis passed away today. I hadn't seen him in years and I regret the time lost. Even though I know I am much older, I still feel like that young girl that couldn't wait to visit my Aunt Dalene and Uncle Francis in Cedar Rapids for a week during the summer! I always had so much fun and truth be told - usually got whatever I asked for. :) (Like wanting to go rollerskating even though my cousin Lorie was grounded - we got to go, of course!
