However, doing this meant that logistically we had to expand the conference to a 2 day conference, and we had to double the number of girls invited to attend the conference. The Fraser Shield Camping Competition. The Fraser Shield, as far as we are aware, is the oldest camping competition still being run in Scouting. From the first competition in 1912, through to today, generations of Scouts have competed against each other in patrols to win the coveted trophy.
