Our Anchorage had two different apple trees growing in the southeast corner, and this spring we planted two more. One a honeycrisp, my very favorite tart and crisp all-occasion apple variety. Underwhelmed, I turned around to see what my grandfather had to say. He leaned over to his right, holding the side of his head with his hand, silent and wearing a pained expression.
