Jan 17, 2016. 프라하에서의 먹방은 잊을 수가 없음. 맥주와 디저트와 각종 고기들. 카프카의 단골이었다는 강변 카페에서 신년 계획을 세울 수 있었다는 것은 기억에 남을 호사 였다. 적정한 허영이 마냥 흘러가는 시간들을 풍요롭게 해준다. 달이 뜨면 말을 타고 사막으로 가서 춤을 추고 술을 마셨다는 젊은 시절 이집트의 왕자를 만났다. 30년전의 처음 처럼 가이드 부터 시작해서 차근차근 가고 싶다는 말에 나의 조급함이 부끄러웠다. 전국민의 70%가 요정을 믿는 다는 아이슬란드. 빙하가 둥둥 떠다니는 해변의 모습. 바닥에서 끓는 물이 솟아오르는 천연 온천에서의 물놀이. 거대한 붓으로 그리는 듯한 오로라. 연말을 보낼 수 있는 가장 근사한 장소가 아니었나 싶다. 30살의 선물이 수영이었다면 31살의 선물은 피아노이다. 헤드헌터에게 작별인사를 고하고 아마존에서 피아노를 주문하는 하루. 하루하루는 최선을 다해, 인생은 대책 없이. Aug 31, 2013. 오랜만에 학회 일로 학교에 왔다. 중간 보고를 앞둔 바쁜 주말이지만 잠깐 학교를 둘러보았다. 어느덧 고연전 일정이 코앞으로 다가와서 엘리제와 응원단 YT가 열혈 연습을 하고 있었다. 숲속 길을 돌아 그들의 연습터로 가서 한참을 멍하니 쳐다 봤다. 엘리제, 뱃노래, 민족의 아리아. 후배들의 검게 탄 피부와 표효하는 표정에서 내가 한동안 잊고 있던 뜨거움을 발견했다고나 할까? 굶주린 짐승처럼 안암을 어슬렁거리던 그시절의 내 뜨거움은 어디로? 인도, 아이스 하키, 모터 사이클, 기타. 항상 매 시기에 무언가에 푹 빠져 지내왔었는데 요즘은 좀 밍숭맹숭하게 살아가는 듯. 이번 할로윈이 나에게 다시금 뜨거움을 줄 수 있지 않을까?
