Tuesday, June 30, 2015. Tuesday Tips - Buttermilk Emergency. Whenever I forget to buy buttermilk (or don't thaw it the night before) I just make it myself! Simply add 1 tablespoon of vinegar or lemon juice to 1 cup of milk. Mix the two ingredients and let stand for 5-10 minutes until the milk has curdled. Works like a charm in a pinch!
