FSGS Sucks: 2015-07-26

http://fsgssucks.blogspot.com/2015_07_26_archive.html

Thursday, July 30, 2015. 1st dose of Ritixumab. The process has OFFICIALLY started! Yesterday, I went to Mayo to have my first dose of Rituximab. We left the house at 5:00am (which was PAINFUL) but made it to Mayo at 7:00am for labs. See how happy we are to be awake? Benadryl is awesome. It makes me SO sleepy. Neither was he when he got to eat the leftovers :). The most exciting thing out the infusion was that I couldn't do dialysis last night. A night of FREEDOM! Unfortunately, I kinda need dialysis for...

FSGS Sucks: Tick tock goes the clock

http://fsgssucks.blogspot.com/2015/07/tick-tock-goes-clock.html

Thursday, July 16, 2015. Tick tock goes the clock. I feel that I have experienced every single second that has passed since my great news 3 weeks ago. I'm still thrilled, but now I'm READY for the next step. I was finally able to get in contact with my donor coordinator this week (she was out on vacation) and she's had a chance to speak with the transplant nephrologist regarding my labs, and it doesn't sound like they were very good. As I understand it, a nephrectomy is probably a 2-month recovery. T...

FSGS Sucks: So.....when's the big day?

http://fsgssucks.blogspot.com/2015/06/sowhens-date.html

Tuesday, June 30, 2015. Sowhen's the big day? This is a question I get asked daily. Totally makes sense since I got THE BEST NEWS EVER a week ago, but unfortunately, I don't have an answer to THIS question.yet. But I can't do ANY of this until my albumin goes up. Based off of my October labs, this makes sense, because I could go through the process of getting the Rituximab, but I'd just pee it all out. So, here's what the future looks like:. Get labs done at Davita. Wait for what seems like an eternity.

FSGS Sucks: Here's my story....

http://fsgssucks.blogspot.com/p/heres-my-story.html

My story started in the summer of 2005. I had a physical for work and the nurse noticed that my protein was high on the random urine sample. I had an appointment with my doctor a couple of weeks later and I mentioned it to him, so he had me do a 24-hour urine sample. That was the beginning of this tenuous journey. I feel very fortunate to have found NephCure this time. I've used it frequently as a place to get information, or just to vent. I started this blog to use as a personal place to vent. Somet...

FSGS Sucks: I have no catchy title...just a lotta whine

http://fsgssucks.blogspot.com/2015/07/i-have-no-catchy-titlejust-lotta-whine.html

Thursday, July 9, 2015. I have no catchy title.just a lotta whine. I'm not feeling better, and I'm losing patience. I'm sluggish both physically and mentally.what I wouldn't do for a burst of energy. I may have a smile on my face, but in my head I'm thinking, "fake it till you make it". Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Example of a Kidney Transplant. Who can donate to me? http://fsgssucks.blogspot.com/2015_07_19_archive.html

Tuesday, July 21, 2015. I had a very early blood draw at Mayo this morning (7:30am), so I had to leave the house at 5:30am, which means I went to bed at 7:30pm last night ;) Even arriving at 7:20am, I ran into a line getting into the parking garage! I'm pretty sure it's mirrored glass and they could't see me, but I still felt so guilty sticking the phone in their face that I abandoned those pictures :) I hung out up here, answered some emails, watched some Hulu and HBO (thanks Rebecca! I started to get S...

FSGS Sucks: The frustration of weight control

http://fsgssucks.blogspot.com/2015/07/the-frustration-of-weight-control.html

Wednesday, July 8, 2015. The frustration of weight control. I have become acutely aware of my weight since I started PD. Every morning when I wake up, the first thing I do is go to the bathroom and then weigh myself. It's also the last thing I do before I hook up every night. The reason is to help me understand my fluid balance, and to help me select which concentration of dialysis solution I need for that evening. It's all very, very draining. FSGS Sucks: Living Donor Information

http://fsgssucks.blogspot.com/2014/10/living-donor-information.html

Wednesday, October 22, 2014. So, for starters, my blood type is O , so my donor kidney will need to be O as well. HOWEVER.if you're blood type is NOT O , there's still hope! If you are interested in donating and are otherwise determined to be healthy, but aren't a blood type match, you can be involved in a paired kidney donation. I took this graphic off of the Mayo website. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Example of a Kidney Transplant. Who can donate to me? What's a Living Donor? Follow me by Email.

A baby blog for everyone to keep track of what's going on with our little kidney bean. Due date: June 29, 2006. Sunday, July 09, 2006. This will be my last post here on The Kidney Bean. Now that Seth is here, he is my life (naturally), so I'm switching my focus back to my regular blog, http:/ hunsford.blogspot.com/. Posted by Jessica @ 4:48 PM. Sunday, July 02, 2006. There in...

A Whole Load of Craft | Where oh where has kidney been?

A Whole Load of Craft. Where oh where has kidney been? August 10, 2008 by thekidneybean. This is the One Skein Scarf from Stitch ‘n Bitch: The Happy Hooker. The pattern is so easy-peasy, and I liked the chart included in the directions. The ends curl a bit, but I can see why this scarf pattern is so popular. Purely for the blog, I took my camera on a short hike to Cascade Falls in Moran State Park. The flash was actually really useful, since it is very shady under the forest canopy. And read all over.
