As I have been working on computers I have noticed that most people have very old versions of Java installed on the computer and do need to uninstall that and update to the latest version. the older versions don't update like they should. Wednesday, May 16, 2012. Got into a discussion on Hoax/spam email. This morning I got into talking about emails from family or friends that are absolutely fake but we get them all the time. You may have seen them "you will get a check from Microsoft if you forward this email", "Pepsi uses aborted babies in their products". you get the idea. Well these emails are trying to do one of three things:. Infect your computer with a virus which can be avoided. (see below). Scam you for information and bank info.

Thursday, November 29, 2012. Recent problem we faced. A couple days ago we had a problem with our internet. Our Modem was a fairly old modem but it still worked great never had any problems so we never bothered to upgrade. It was an Actiontec GT701 which is a modem that Centurylink/Qwest sold/rented years ago, we owned ours. Since we are a computer repair shop we do have extra parts here and there and we did have an extra modem that we swapped out which would not connect to the internet either.
