ugandan escapades: May 2011
http://ugandanescapades.blogspot.com/2011_05_01_archive.html
This is what I journaled on May 15, 2010:. Yet you still love us. Still you wait for us. Still you call my name in the desert and wilderness and whisper sweet mornings to me. You never stop pursuing me. Your grace is enough for me. When I am made weak, then you are strong. May my smiles be genuine. May my joy be real. May I walk patiently, seeking your face constantly. May I boast in my weaknesses and brokenness because Jesus feeds out of scarcity. When I am weak, THEN you are strong. Links to this post.

Does your teacher get diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer. And the whole class surround her, place hands on her, and take turns praying for her recovery. It was pretty beautiful. It is days like these when I am blessed that I go to CCU. Links to this post. I have this affinity toward dogs. Thanks to Kelly, since I use her toothbrush to brush Bucky's teeth. :). I think dogs are a true gift from God- maybe one of His best creations! Adam and Eve were in the garden. After the fall, Adam and Eve were a...

I really heart starbies. If you don't know what "starbies" is, it is because it is a pet-name I just made up for my favorite "waste-lots-o-time". Hotspot. AKA Starbucks. I come here almost. Everyday. At least every weekday. Sometimes I don't even get anything to drink. But I love people watching here. I love wondering what people are heading to do, what they are coming from, what their lives are like. I am not sure what draws people to Starbucks to talk about Jesus. but it always. Right now, I am addicte...

ugandan escapades: February 2010

Love God. Love others. God desires us to be in relation with one another. We were created to be relational beings, modeled after God. In Genesis 1, the creation story refers to "us" and "our." My perspective is that The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit all were there at creation. The whole Trinity. From the beginning we were created "in Our. Likeness" (italics mine, Genesis 1:26). Therefore, God was not alone even at the beginning. There was the trinity. God creates us to be in relationships with oth...

The best damn sinner. Sometimes I think about how I would want people to describe me. I am not sure if normal people do this, but I do. The funny thing is, when you think of these words it forces you to wonder, if asked, what would people describe you as now? Some descriptions are probably not so sugar-coated. As far as negatively, I think people would describe me as:. Late busy. judgmental. lost. selfish. hypocritical. closed-minded. idealistic. Open to ideas,. Secure in my beliefs. selfless. The thrill...

There is something funny about traveling. It is always bittersweet. You don't want to leave you friends and family and loved ones. but you're so excited for the adventure ahead. You don't want to leave your adventure. but you are excited to come home to your loved ones. There is anticipation in the preparation, but as the day creeps closer, hearts become faint. But the funny thing is, life goes on without you. I know, shocking, right? But I'll be screaming. I'll be dying for someone to understand. Lord, ...
