Sunday, April 26, 2015. While playing Catch Phrase. The other day with the kids, I had the word "wavy". Me: When my hair isn't straight or curly, it is? For some reason Barney the purple dinosaur came up in conversation last week. However, since my kids have been raised without (much) television, they weren't quite sure who he was. Stephen submitted his dissertation, walked at graduation and defended his dissertation. "His name is Docta Jones, doll! Earlier on Friday our Realtor posted to have "last and best" offers in by 9 am Saturday morning, since we already had multiple offers. Sunday, May 10, 2015. My Mother's Day gift to all women. So I decided that instead of wanting everything to be about ME, I would just be happy to be alive. Just be happy to be a mother. Just be happy to have. A mother. Just be happy in my life. That slight shift in attitude has made my birthdays and Mother's Days some of the most joyful days of the year. While I clean up throw up I think "it's my birthday! And am just happy. What is happening outside me doesn't phase me, because it's my special day!

Thursday, July 24, 2014. Lincoln came into the bathroom this morning while I was showering and proceeded to do his business. All of a sudden he pipes up with, "Well, I'm mostly a big boy, but sometimes I still put my underwear on backwards.". It made me think- I'm mostly a big girl, but I still. Get annoyed at little things. Slam doors when I'm really mad. Can't stand sudden changes. Say things that I know I shouldn't. Get impatient with children acting their ages. And the list goes on. New time of life!

Sunday, June 21, 2015. Whirlwind couple of weeks, part two: Boys' Choir. This past year Mason, Sammy and Lincoln have been singing with the North Star Boys' Choirs, and have grown to absolutely LOVE singing. They also love being part of something bigger than just them, and I love that the choirs reinforce what I teach at home- they train polite young men. As Trevor says, as he runs to open a door for me, "Boys' choir boys are gentlemen.". Mason moved up with the Vikings, and has absolutely LOVED learning...
