What Katy Did Next - Features. Tuesday, 24 March 2015. 1 Shade of Grey. Here are the promised snaps of our new living room. We still have lots we would like to do, as you can see we have lots of bare walls. I am trying to decide where to put pictures and I have my eye on the perfect shelves for one of the alcoves. I am pleased with how it is taking shape. The grey walls look so different in different lights. We absolutely love the 'steel grey 2' colour we chose from Dulux. What do you think? Ahhh lovely ...

Love Lemon: October 2014
http://lovelemon1.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
What Katy Did Next - Features. Wednesday, 15 October 2014. The shift dress has to be one of my favourite classic vintage designs. When I signed up to my first dressmaking course I had my heart set on a shift dress with a peter pan collar which you can see here. I wear it so much and went on to make another. I particularly like pockets or a collar on a shift dress and there are so many variations on the design. Who also have a great selection of shift dresses. Someone wanted in on the action! My styling a...

Love Lemon: July 2015
http://lovelemon1.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html
What Katy Did Next - Features. Friday, 24 July 2015. Our new garden had lots of mature plants and a lot of thought had gone into each one. However we had no grass for the boys to play on and lots of sharp plants around, we couldn't even see the decking at the back. We spent a lot of time working through ideas and planning. Over quite a few weeks we cleared stones, bricks, plants and some huge roots. We gave away lots of plants and stones through our local free cycle. The difference once we had laid the l...

Thrifty News A big announcement (and a small anniversary). WONDERTHRIFT was launched one year ago today! I hit the floor running, posting almost everyday for about three months… And then I moved into a yurt without Internet and doing a blog post everyday was way beyond the realms of doable. Blog posts kept stuttering along. Just about thirty times less frequently… I made some cool connections with other blogs and was, very excitingly, featured as the Guardian Sustainable Blog of the Week. I feel like it ...

Flora & Purl: canoedling
http://floraandpurl.blogspot.com/2012/08/canoeing.html
Friday, August 24. Today my favourite boy turned 33 and I surprised him by hiring a canoe and taking a little trip down the river. We paddled upstream, through lush farmland, towards the very source of the Thames. The river was so peaceful we honestly didn't see a single other boat or person for the whole afternoon. We found a secluded mooring spot to tie up the canoe and sheltered under the willows from the light rain with a very special birthday picnic. Posted by mother of purl. Friday, August 24, 2012.
