Azzy's Crochet: October 2009
http://azzyscrochet.blogspot.com/2009_10_01_archive.html
Sunday, 18 October 2009. My Moosie came on Wednesday :) So so glad to have it finally here! It's part of the October herd - whorl number 25 which was technically my second choice, but was actually my first choice when I really sat down and thought about it. My first was one with mouse nibbles, which I picked purely on account of the nibbles - but this one is far more beautiful. Technically it's: White PB, heavy mottles in rings, green undertone on 1 side. Used Jenny's Super Stretchy Bind Off on both sock...

Azzy's Crochet: Preparing for Winter
http://azzyscrochet.blogspot.com/2010/05/preparing-for-winter.html
Monday, 17 May 2010. It might seem a little counter-intuitive for me to be having a blog post with this title in the middle of May, but due to how cold this house is, I've been getting a move on with some projects that will help once the weather begins to turn. I've recently started on Ysolda's Hap Blanket. I've just finished the centre square and have started on the edging. I'm making it using some yarn I bought from Baa Ram Ewe - I have the biggest 400g ball of yarn I've ever seen in the grey. Frustrat...

Azzy's Crochet: September 2009
http://azzyscrochet.blogspot.com/2009_09_01_archive.html
Monday, 14 September 2009. My firstest ever pair of socks. Please excuse the excitment - I am dead chuffed at having finished my first ever pair of socks! Given that socks were the reason I finally learned to knit, I am super excited to have managed this. I finished my Mum's Lemon Express socks on Saturday and gave them to her on Sunday. I cast on for Trev's Anniversary Koigu socks straight away. But without further ado, here are my socks modelled by my younger sister Emma:. Which I think I will try for ...

Azzy's Crochet: November 2009
http://azzyscrochet.blogspot.com/2009_11_01_archive.html
Monday, 30 November 2009. So I can officially call myself a lace knitter now! After finishing the Ripley hats, I cast on for Ishbel. I've been planning to knit it for ages and finally persuaded myself that I might be able to manage it. I'd also been saving my Koigu for something other than socks, and this seemed ideal. So we went from this:. Blocked it last night, and now finished, it looks like this:. Here's the few mods I made:. For cast-on edge did the below instead:. This one is lovely and warm (I ha...

Azzy's Crochet: Getting to grips with my wheel
http://azzyscrochet.blogspot.com/2010/05/getting-to-grips-with-my-wheel.html
Monday, 17 May 2010. Getting to grips with my wheel. Had lots of fun on Saturday playing with my new wheel. Here's some wheel p0rn:. I've mastered the art of rewinding bobbins and love how they look once they're done. I did this with a load of stuff this weekend - old projects and those in progress. Take a look at a bobbin before and after rewinding:. Love how perfect it looks! But I actually managed to start and finish a whole new project this weekend! The Yarn Yard Fibre Club February shipment. I got g...

Azzy's Crochet: First handspun singles
http://azzyscrochet.blogspot.com/2010/05/handspun-singles.html
Saturday, 22 May 2010. Been doing some more spinning this week! Managed to complete another project in the space of two days - this time it was 4oz of Spunky Eclectic Club Fibre. It's the December shipment, which was Wensleydale in the colour way Cold Front:. Most people seemed to have more blues in theirs, particularly dark blue. Mine is a much lighter selections of greens and sea-blues. The result was a yarn that hung perfectly open in a loop - with a gorgeous fuzzy halo. Behold the finished skein:.

Azzy's Crochet: March 2010
http://azzyscrochet.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html
Wednesday, 24 March 2010. Things I'm going to miss about London. So, it's official. I have a job, and we are moving to Leeds on April 2nd! I didn't get the job mentioned in my last blog post - but have since been offered 2 others, one of which I've accepted. It's a nice step up for me, and exactly in the line of work I'm doing. A few things I'm unsure of, such as client base, but I'll see how we go. Eagle Bar and Diner (a lot of these are going to be food related) - American style diner with burgers, hot...

Azzy's Crochet: May 2009
http://azzyscrochet.blogspot.com/2009_05_01_archive.html
Thursday, 28 May 2009. This has been a good few days for learning new techniques. I practised the Italian tubular cast-on yesterday in advance of casting on for my Endpaper Mitts. I'm hoping it will look better on 2.0mm needles and sock yarn, as opposed to the aran yarn and 6.0mm needles I used here. I used a couple of Youtube vids to help me:. It looks ok though so hopefully I will be alright. And I bought and cast on for Otto yesterday! Learned lots of things so far on this bear. But I'll carry on with...
