Primary Planet!: In case of emergency...
http://www.theprimaryplanet.com/2014/02/in-case-of-emergency.html
In case of emergency. Are you required to wear your identification badge while you are at school? We are. Our card also lets us access the copy machine, so it is handy to have it all the time. Another neat safety feature that our school has implemented is that our classroom keys (we can only unlock our own classrooms) can LOCK any room in our school building. So if I am in someone else's room and there is an emergency, I can lock their door using my key! Are you looking for more great ideas? Hilary, thes...

Primary Planet!: Book Picnic with a freebie!
http://www.theprimaryplanet.com/2013/12/book-picnic-with-freebie.html
Book Picnic with a freebie! I have a problem. I am addicted to children's books! I love children's books. I believe that I have a pretty good classroom library (it wraps most of the way around my classroom). But, with so many books, some of the best ones sometimes get put away and never get read because they aren't as easy to get to, or not as visible as others. So, how do I get those great books out and noticed? But another thing that we enjoy doing in our classroom is having a book picnic! What a FABUL...

Teaching in the Valley: October 2012
http://teachinginthevalley.blogspot.com/2012_10_01_archive.html
Teaching in the Valley. Sunday, October 21, 2012. It's a New Week. Yikes, I have been such a terrible blogger. But in my defense, I had the worst week of my (small) teaching career last week. I had meetings every day after school and two before school. I was just physically and emotionally so exhausted and overworked, and I have never looked forward to the weekend more than this one. This weekend was so nice and needed. For starters, I was able to sleep in BOTH days! And wedding planning too! Well, here'...
Hello Mrs Sykes: Independence from Vegas Anxiety
http://hellomrssykes.blogspot.com/2015/07/independence-from-vegas-anxiety.html
Independence from Vegas Anxiety. Lately, I noticed that I feel this. Need to care what others think. A lot. As I prepare for the TPT Conference awesomeness of next week, I am scared. See, I am a socially awkward person. Really. If you've chatted with me away from school. You'll see how I am able to stick my foot in my mouth. A lot. Fortunately, I make a decent first impression. :). Omigod, I cried for the people who shared that level of anxiety as I deleted the post. It's been on my mind ever since.
Sara at School: February 2015
http://sara-at-school.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Thursday, February 26, 2015. Parent Teacher Conferences today - and I've been up since roughly 2:30 this morning. That makes for a lovely combination, doesn't it? More like a toxic one! So what's a gal to do when she can't sleep? How about a little personal Professional Development? Second, I ended up at Tunstall's Teaching Tidbits. I'd love to have my kids practice reading sentences that have phonics that we just learned. {OK, that's a terrible sentence! Links to this post. Thursday, February 19, 2015.
Sara at School: Connecting

Tuesday, July 21, 2015. No count down here, as one of my regular readers requested I not do that - LOL. That same regular reader - well, I read her blog, too. And a while back, Tammy said something on her blog. That caught my eye:. Early in the day before I had even learned all their names I said these words. "I loved you before you even showed up today" and I meant it. I've thought of a couple phrases:. I've been thinking about you. I've been waiting to meet you. July 21, 2015 at 5:22 PM. Im praying for...

The Primary Position | For the ride
Hi my name’s Nick, and I’m a Devon cyclist. August 25, 2014. I learnt to ride on a hand-me-down Raleigh Grifter in Dawlish. Looking at Wikipedia I think it must have been a MK1. And I inherited it from Jim, my youngest older brother. My eldest older brother, JR, had a racing bike, red and white as I recall, hung from the wall in the garage. Its skinny tyres and weird handlebars made it seem like a scary machine, only for accomplished riders, and I never climbed astride the saddle. August 21, 2014. Well, ...
