A Meadow of Grace. Monday, April 18, 2011. The funny things you hear in the classroom! So during my student teaching, my kids said some pretty funny things that I just had to write down. I thought I would keep track of them and share them with others when I gathered a few. Here are a few funny things that my 3rd graders said:. Girl: Miss. C, My rat died from a bladder infection. Me: You kids will be using multiplication for the rest of your lives so it is important that you memorize it now. What if you d...

Basically, you'll use Swagbucks like you do Google. You'll accumulate points, and get to buy stuff with them. I go for the 5$ Amazon gift card which is a measly peasley 450 points. Tuesday, August 31, 2010. Today marks the end of August, and with that, the end of my first month of doing Crossfit. So far, I've loved the crap out of it. I can tell I'm strong, and I think my body is loving the challenge of a different workout every day. My weight is down a bit, though that may be due to a whole lot of cereal and not a lot of real meals these past three days. If that's the case, then I'm a third of the way there. I'm pretty psyched. Thursday, August 12, 2010. Crossfit, Week 2. My lates...

You Heard Me: Product Review: Collapsible Salad Spinner of Wonder!
http://thilfan.blogspot.com/2010/07/product-review-collapsible-salad.html
Thursday, July 22, 2010. Product Review: Collapsible Salad Spinner of Wonder! So I really like kitchen gadgets, as you may know. I haven't had a salad spinner in years, but since I don't go through all that much salad while Matthew is around, I haven't really needed one. Things I love about it:. 1- It is collapsible! The inside bowls both collapse in so it is about 2 inches thick- hello storage friendly! 3- To spin, you pull a little string! The wretched spinner of my childhood was a sometimes-broken giz...

Thursday, December 17, 2009. End of the Semester! I fully intend to ACTUALLY resurface here, and I'm so excited! I feel like I have so much to tell you about, but really, read the post I just did about the comps exam, and you'll know where I've been the last. well, the last 6 months at LEAST. Let me just say, I am so relieved to have that test behind me! And, since this is my blog, a place to discuss my thoughts, I have to share with you that it was actually kind of fun. Four hour test? We'll return to C...

You Heard Me: Swagbucks.
http://thilfan.blogspot.com/2010/07/swagbucks.html
Wednesday, July 14, 2010. I've invited some of you to use Swagbucks. Through e-mails, but I wanted to put a plug for it here. Swagbucks is a search engine that rewards you for searching with points. Those points add up, and you can"buy" things with them through the swagstore. So far, after using the site for about a month, I've won $15 in Amazon gift cards! I spend a total of about 5-10 minutes a day searching on it, and I've benefited already! Anyway, if you're interested, click the link. Product Review...

Tuesday, February 09, 2010. Today we had a snow day! Matthew and I both got to stay home! The University was closed and the post actually closed down too. 2 weeks ago we had a bigger storm, but it happened over the weekend, so we didn't get to have any days off like so many others (mainly the local school districts. I think since the beginning of 2010 they've had six snow days, and I'm really not kidding about that. And yes, we've had TWO storms, both of which yielded about 4-6 inches). We have really en...
