our growing family: December 2008
http://davidandmindi.blogspot.com/2008_12_01_archive.html
Friday, December 26, 2008. Christmas morning brought clear weather, about 45 degrees, so we took a walk in downtown Chattanooga. We did this last year too so it may become a tradition. At the end of the walk we let the boys out of the stroller to walk the pier and they both loved that. Andrew was nervous walking on the metal grating on the pier because he didn't like seeing the water beneath him. The dump truck was fun to ride and then be "dumped" out of it as the bucket was lifted. Here is a collage of ...

From Kenya to Cairo. Thursday, January 01, 2009. New Year's Eve Weenie-Roast. There's no better to celebrate New Year's Eve than with a weenie-roast, right? Especially if you made the grill yourself? You've never done that before? Well, Richard and Derek made the grill you see here from an old water heater. And, the first chance we had to test it was New Year's Eve. OK.real meat may have been grilled, but we also had veggie kabobs! These boys are such posers! Once more, Caleb and Kyle being silly.

From Kenya to Cairo. Sunday, November 30, 2008. The ASB (like Student Association) hosted a Christmas party the Sunday before Dead Week. We played games and ate injera and fries. Yes.what a combination! But, that's what the students wanted. Here's Richard enthusiastically serving. In case you're wondering, the bottles that you see there are Alvaro. It's a non-alcoholic malt drink that the kids like. Check out the previous posts from Habeshas, our favorite Ethiopian restaurant in Nairobi. This is the spot...

These guys are actually taken out into the park and introduced to different elephant families in hopes that they will be adopted and taught how to live in the wild. This process can take several years. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Nairobi National Parks Animal Orphanage. Even though we didnt venture into any other cages. Mt Longonot, Part 2.

From Kenya to Cairo: July 2006
http://hadassahdoss.blogspot.com/2006_07_01_archive.html
From Kenya to Cairo. Friday, July 14, 2006. Por que Un Poquito. I've been inspired to join by a very shy friend who has put herself out there in the blogging world. I figure if she can do it, so can I, especially since shy is not a word many would use to describe me. I've titled my blog. Well, I guess it's because I'm hoping to resuscitate the little bit of. That is left in me. I've been noticiing lately that I'm beginning to lose it, and that's scary. I tried to carry on a conversation with. Either....

our growing family: January 2010
http://davidandmindi.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html
Sunday, January 03, 2010. As I was reviewing pictures, I noticed that I have over 200 pictures from July alone. We are used to having a digital camera where you can take as many as you want and then delete (like that happens) the ones that aren't good. We had lots of play dates, some in our backyard with the sprinkler and fort and some around town like the fountain at Coolidge park and playground at the mall. David, mindi, andrew and ethan. No posts for 6 months. David, mindi, andrew and ethan.

our growing family: October 2008
http://davidandmindi.blogspot.com/2008_10_01_archive.html
Thursday, October 23, 2008. Besides walking they are beginning to use words. Most are hard to understand except through context. Words include "kitty cat, fish (gold fish crackers), car, truck, woof woof, boo" and many more words that they say the first syllable only such as 'ba" for ball. Their love of reading is growing. We enjoy reading a story and quizzing their knowledge by asking "where is the butterfly or dog? David, with some help, built a fence and deck in the back yard. It has given us more...

our growing family: Travel with 7 Poeple
http://davidandmindi.blogspot.com/2009/05/travel-with-7-poeple.html
Monday, May 04, 2009. Travel with 7 Poeple. So are you wondering how it's possible to travel with 7 people in one minivan? First you buy some Starbucks coffee for those that are grouchy or tired. Next you pack an ice chest full of snacks, lunch, and drinks. You'll still have to stop at McDonalds or Dariy Queen to use the restroom and have a treat. Then you need a DVD player to keep them from asking "are we there yet? Or "I'm hungry.". Enjoy this short video showing our seating arrangement in the van.

our growing family: June 2009
http://davidandmindi.blogspot.com/2009_06_01_archive.html
Sunday, June 21, 2009. Weekend at Nana and Papa's. Andrew and Ethan spent the night at Nana's and Papa's so that David and I could go to the Primerica meeting in Atlanta on Friday. We enjoyed the time away and had a good time in Atlanta especially our visit to Ikea. We bought some chairs for the living room and then a short while later found matching kids chairs. Andrew and Ethan spent time playing with bubbles and even made cymbals out of metal coasters from Great Grandma McCoy. Andrew and Ethan Walters...

our growing family: March 2009
http://davidandmindi.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html
Friday, March 20, 2009. 160;We've had a busy month of activities. We became members of the Tennessee Aquarium and the Chattanooga Zoo. I was a seller at a CAMOMC consignment sale. We also attended Carter's 2nd birthday party. The party was a blast. They experienced a pinata and face painting. They both wanted "rocket" from the Little Einsteins. Ethan kept whining that Andrew had "rocket" because he would forget that his face had one too. The video at the end is about 3 minutes so it might load slowly but...
