Where I’ve Been. Odds & Ends. Burgh’ Bits & Bites Lawrenceville Food Tour. Posted on August 25, 2016. Now that I’ve gotten my mom thoroughly addicted to food tours, it seemed like the perfect unique activity when she came to Pittsburgh for a visit earlier this month. My first ever food tour was right here in Pittsburgh (for that post click here) so it was fitting that I should go on another one, especially when it happened to be in my favorite foodie neighborhood.…. Visiting the Vanka Murals. May 22, 2016.

Where I’ve Been. Odds & Ends. Senegalese Quinoa-Crusted Crab Cakes. Posted on May 19, 2016. Where I’ve Been. Odds & Ends. So you think you can’t cook? Posted on May 12, 2016. I have to say that the one thing that annoys me more than anything else (in a trivial, first world kind of way) is when I hear people say they can’t cook. The words that are usually more accurate in this instance are won’t cook. Because honestly, if you know how to read then you can read a recipe, and if you can read a …. Travel, Adventure and Life. On September 6, 2013. Still, some things about Boston were unexpected and surprising to me. Having not done any research prior to my visit, I spent most of my time there being pleasantly surprised. Here are some of the things that made Boston unique to me. Obviously Boston played a huge part in US history and the American Revolution. But until I saw things first hand, I didn’t realize just how. 4So Many Churches… and Cemeteries. Beautiful old stone churches are common in many ...

Travel, Adventure and Life. Why Puerto Rico is the Perfect Long Weekend Destination. On May 6, 2014. I tell people I’m going to the Caribbean and they often assume it’s to lounge at an all-inclusive resort in Punta Cana or Jamaica, or to go on a cruise. Last week I visited Puerto Rico for the third time, and each time I think of more reasons why it’s a great destination to visit. In fact, I think it’s the perfect long weekend destination from the US, and highly recommend it to people! Unique Things to Do.

Travel, Adventure and Life. Wildlife Photos from Grand Teton National Park. On May 22, 2013. I had a wonderful time getting back to nature during my brief time in Jackson, Wyoming earlier this month. It was a great opportunity for viewing wildlife and I was able to spend some time photographing the animals. Here are a few of my favorite shots. The first noteworthy animal I saw, a red fox. Too bad the beautiful little guy wouldn’t look at the camera. The lakes and wetlands were full of interesting birds.

Travel, Adventure and Life. Hotel Room Workouts: The 100-10 Bodyweight Routine. On July 22, 2013. I have a really hard time trying to stay in shape with all my business travel. I came across the concept for the 100-10 bodyweight routine online and modified it to meet me needs and give each major muscle group some attention. It takes me about 30 minutes, more if I get the run in either on the treadmill in the hotel gym or outside. I do adductor raises. Here for an inner thigh strengthening exercise. This ...

Travel, Adventure and Life. Pittsburgh Airport Jet Blue Launch. On November 25, 2014. It’s obviously a complicated story involving the local politics, economics and the ever-changing airline industry. But, every Pittsburgh traveler feels a bit discouraged arriving home to an empty airport with few flights arriving and departing. The airport folks really made Jet Blue Pittsburgh to Ft. Lauderdale inaugural flight a celebration, despite the 7am takeoff that meant showing up at 5:30! This was the first time...

Travel, Adventure and Life. On Going Back: Visiting Brazil after Four Years Away. On May 21, 2015. We must never cease our exploration, and the end of all our exploring will be to return to the place where we first began and to truly know that place for the first time. When an opportunity to travel to Brazil on business came up this past March, I was super excited but couldn’t help feeling a little apprehensive. Would Brazil feel the same to me? It was a few very hectic weeks leading up to my trip to Bra...

Travel, Adventure and Life. On February 17, 2014. The ridiculously cold weather in Pittsburgh that I’ve been complaining about and occasionally enjoying. Has resulted in another interesting consequence. Recently us Pittsburgh residents have been noticing a much higher number of seagulls than the typical occasional sighting. Phenomenon in itself, but it’s caused the seagulls to look for nearby open water. According to the Pittsburgh newspaper. The search for open water has also brought some other species ...

Travel, Adventure and Life. Instantly Framed Photo Framing Review. On January 22, 2015. I love photography and have thousands of beautiful photos from my trips around the world. They get displayed online and featured on this blog, but for the most part my photos just sit online and I don’t feel like I get to enjoy them as often as I’d like. I’m really trying to display more photos at home. Recently I got to try out a pretty cool service that solves that problem. Instantly Framed. The order did include fr...

Travel, Adventure and Life. Two Nights in Budapest. On January 6, 2014. When I was planning my trip to Venice. Back in November, I wanted to add another city to my journey as well. At first I thought I’d head over to Croatia or Slovenia since I’ve been dying to get to the Balkans forever. But, logistics for getting there weren’t ideal, I realized the weather would not be good and I ultimately decided to table visiting the Balkans until I’d have more time to do them justice. I took a taxi to the hotel and...

30 Days of Kink. Sunday, July 19, 2015. You're Going to Leave Me. You're going to leave me. It's ok. Really. I know you want to tell me that we'll. Always – forever – the rest of our lives". But life doesn't really work like that. There are some people whose lives intertwine. And they have 21 years of shared history. And some people who are in your lives. For only moments, only months and only years. You may leave me. Or I will leave you. Or it will be a mutual drifting apart. Any kind of importance.

The Redheaded Vegan | Just another WordPress.com site
Just another WordPress.com site. This past weekend was a complete and utter BLAST! I went to not only my first wedding (since age 3) but my first Polish wedding… and it ended up lasting 3 days. In terms of eating I think I did rather well considering there was polish sausage, pierogi, delicious dumplings, and desserts galore – none of which I ate. I prepared for before the wedding and brought fruit with me; I had soup for afterwards but ended up leaving it in the car :(. No, no, get her a piece! Again, n...
