Who played bluegrass music were the Dillards and Flatt and Scruggs - both groups having featured on TV shows here. Eventually I met a few other pickers and was able to get a better understanding of the music and where it came from - as well as getting hold of some more material to listen to. Through this time I played in various musical groups, notably the Auckland based folk band El M'fud and then later with Wellington based Urban Renewal. Enjoying the regular weekly performances by The Seldom Scene.

I’ll be playing at the Thirsty Dog in K’ Road on June the 5th (Queens birthday weekend) So if you feel like sitting in a cosy pub on a Sunday afternoon and listening to a bit of acoustic blues and country etc see you there. On April 26, 2011 by neilfinlay. We had our first gig at the Rafters Folk Club and there is a rumour of an appearance at the Devonport Folk Club in July but stay tuned for final details.
