All of this for a master's degree? It had better be worth it! Saturday, December 26, 2009. Puri (not the eating kind). Boxing day at the beach! There is also a 20 foot solid wood dining table which probably hasn't been moved in hundreds of years. Yesterday we slept in! Afterwards we went to a little cafe in town that has REAL coffee! We finally discovered the famed Puri sari market and we looked at so many beautiful saris! Today we are taking it easy and tomorrow we will head to the famous Sun Temple in ...

Below is an article I wrote about the 25th anniversary of the Bhopal gas disaster and I felt like this was a good place to share it. More blog posts on my week in Bhopal to follow! There are hundreds of women, men and children lined up for a mile down the main road of Old Bhopal, holding lit torches and painted placards bearing Hindi slogans: “ Larenge! 8221; [“We will fight! Is a school...

Kristin's South African Adventures! Friday, May 7, 2010. One thing that’s really fun about teaching ESL is that you can incorporate a lot of other subjects into lessons depending on what you’re teaching. My lessons this week included new vocabulary, listening and reading comprehension, history of SA and the US, human rights, as well as a little geography (MLK’s speech references a lot of the southern states). Fun stuff! I just can’t help it! Speaking of which, any new PCVs headed to South Africa this sum...

http://jadedenvironmentalist.blogspot.com/2009/11/sick-o.html
All of this for a master's degree? It had better be worth it! Thursday, November 26, 2009. First things first, I uploaded some photos here. Mostly because I am sneezing a lot too and certainly spreading my germs… but… it is too uncomfortable to even sleep, so at work I am. They would be SOO happy! 8221; Of course I was pleased to go with her and her roommates were r...

All of this for a master's degree? It had better be worth it! Thursday, February 4, 2010. My train to Chennai from Berhampur was a breeze because I decided to splurge and travel in the 3AC compartment and man, I had no idea how luxurious it is! They gave me a blanket, two sheets and a pillow, and not one person talked to me. It was really great and to be honest a huge relief since it's getting quite hot and sleeper class would have been quite uncomfortable between 10am and 2pm. I am hoping to get some ch...
