April 2011 |The Traveling Praters

http://thetravelingpraters.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html

By City and State. By Type of Attraction. Homeschool Mother’s Journal. Thursday, April 28, 2011. Last year I wrote about the scariest thing I’d heard that day. According to reports, six tornados touched down in our community yesterday and if you haven’t watched the news, the state of Alabama, like much of the South has experienced terrible devastation. You won’t hear from me until next week. In the meantime, will you join me in praying for those families that have lost everything? Links to this post.

May 2011 |The Traveling Praters

http://thetravelingpraters.blogspot.com/2011_05_01_archive.html

By City and State. By Type of Attraction. Homeschool Mother’s Journal. Tuesday, May 31, 2011. Last week I was reading Two Kids and a Map and had to chuckle at the post The Behind of the Zebra. I can relate. Of all our trips to the zoo, or the Wilds. Or safari type adventures, I don’t think I’ve ever captured anything other than a rear end shot of a zebra.  EVER. Yesterday, I accompanied my family to the Harmony Park Safari in Huntsville, Alabama. I’ll share more about that trip later). Links to this post.

Let’s face it, purchasing Christmas gifts for teenagers can be a daunting task. It can be more or less so depending on the teens that you have to shop for. I’m fortunate; my kids are easy to please. They may be drooling over a Kindle, an iPad or the best SLR camera (who isn’t? 1 iTunes Gift Cards. 2 A Travel Journal. My kids love to play board games. Over the years we...

More Ketchup Please: School is a "job"?

http://moreketchupplease.blogspot.com/2010/03/school-is-job.html

Follow my blog about our family as we unschool our kids and what they learn every day! Tuesday, March 9, 2010. School is a "job"? I continually hear about parents (some my own friends) who tell their kids that going to school is their "job." This is so ridiculous to me I don't know where to start. Let's think about this. As a typical 10 year old, the government forces you to go to school (a certain school unless your parents want to pay for a different one). Are adults forced to work? So in essence, thes...

Follow my blog about our family as we unschool our kids and what they learn every day! Tuesday, April 20, 2010. PLEASE Help My Friend! I nominated my friend and fellow homeschooler, Sonya, for a contest. The main prize for her is different every month, from $100 in April to a year of mortgage payments in July AND a trip to Pigeon Forge. To win this would be a HUGE blessing for such a hard working woman who reaps little reward and still thanks God every day for everything she has. THANK YOU so much! For u...

It's a contest on Facebook. There are only 8 entries and I'm in 2nd, behind by about 25 votes. This ends Wednesday, June 16. It's very easy to vote. You have to "like" Yucatan Holidays and then you have to "like" my entry - the 3rd one, with the flag on it. That's all! THANK YOU so much! Http:/ www.facebook.com/#!

The Traveling Pipeliner's Wife

The Traveling Pipeliner's Wife. Thursday, May 28, 2015. Well it's only been about six months since the last time I posted! Most of you I'm sure know what's been happening, but in case you missed it, here we go! So we packed up all our belongings, the guinea pigs, and made our way northwest! Funny story, the night Marilyn passed, I had been down in the basement, where the guinea pigs were staying, helping Judah set up orange safety fencing around their cage because Maple kept jumping out of the cage!
