The Waving Runner

Friday, January 27, 2012. An unqualified opinion on the economy. This might be a little after the peak commenting time, but various parts of this have been coming up in conversation from time to time and I figured I would write about them to no one. The two things I think I think are that:. Capitalism has not grown as fast as transportation. Profit margin expectations are unrealistic, and hurtful to the overall economy. If capitalism were to move to more of a fair trade model, it makes moving business ab...

The Waving Runner: Crawling Back

http://www.thewavingrunner.blogspot.com/2011/10/crawling-back.html

Saturday, October 8, 2011. Today I finally got back out and took a little ride on the bike. As I hadn’t a clue as to how my body would respond, I decided I would just go down to The Veloway to do some loops. (Yeah, hoping on the trainer would have been easier, but I have spent enough time in front of my TV lately.) I was actually very surprised how I felt on the bike! I know that I will never be able to post those type of numbers…. OK That is all for now. Run friendly! December 21, 2011 at 8:46 AM.

The Waving Runner: October 2010

http://www.thewavingrunner.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html

Wednesday, October 13, 2010. Race report only a little more than a month after the fact! The Austin Tri was on Labor Day in downtown Austin. It really is a lot of fun getting to race in downtown Austin. The quick low down on it was that it was a great race for me with a few hiccups. I bettered last year’s time by 17 minutes and bettered my 10k PR by a little over 30 seconds. Overall time was 2:21:20. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. La Transe Gaule 2016 :(. Colin's Triathlon: Rookie Race Report

http://colintri.blogspot.com/2011/05/rookie-race-results.html

Sunday, May 22, 2011. I have been dragging my feet with blog post updates and triathlon news so I hope that finishing college at the University of Texas this spring will free up some time. I recently competed in the Rookie. As per usual I woke up late, got a late start and was stuck in traffic leading up to the race. Will I ever learn? This year the Rookie. My wave was the 3rd or 4th to start so I had some time to kill. I found my friends Lori and Marchele. Lori was a seasoned pro at triathlons b...5 min...

Colin's Triathlon: Jack and Adams Sunday Ride

http://colintri.blogspot.com/2011/06/jack-and-adams-sunday-ride.html

Monday, June 13, 2011. Jack and Adams Sunday Ride. A couple of Sundays ago was my first ever group ride. I have been meaning to try out the free rides around town. I know that Bicycle Sport Shop. And Jack and Adams. All have rides that I believe are free. After a little research I decided that the beginner "no drop" ride at Jack and Adams was the ride I wanted so I packed up the bike on Sunday morning and headed down to see what a group ride was all about. Colin's Triathlon: February 2011

http://colintri.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html

Thursday, February 24, 2011. I am procrastinating my studying for a test to update this blog so it better be worth it. Actually I just need a break from Philosophy of Biology so this is it. Later on in the day I got in a nice swim at UT. It was a mile total in distance with a 400 m warm up. 800 m of kick and pull drills followed by a 400 m cool down. I love swimming at UT and one big reason is that if I get a good swim in it keeps me awake for my last class of the day. Links to this post. Run and a Swim.

Colin's Triathlon: December 2010

http://colintri.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html

Thursday, December 23, 2010. It's all starting again! Okay new season with new goals is rapidly approaching. I am looking forward to the new challenge I have set for myself. Last year's goal was to compete in the Texas Tri Series 2010 which finished with a Half-Ironman race. That was last year. This year the plan is a FULL Ironman Distance Event! As of now the goal is The Vineman. The plan is to train with Team Rogue. And don't worry, Oskar is here and will be with me all throughout the season. 160; I di...

The Waving Cat

Travel, food, people and, of course, waving cats. Who is the Waving Cat? Saturday, 1 August 2015. If you are ever here, eat there #27: Auckland. Seafood is not generally my first choice of restaurant. It's not that I don't like it, but rather that there are many things I like more. But from the first nibble of the chilled seafood platter to the last melting mouthful of Salmon, Wildfire. Wildfire's chilled seafood platter.
