The Whimsy Bookworm: A Book Blog from India

Monday, 17 August 2015. Review: The Book of Life by Steve Griffin. The Book of Life (The Secret of the Tirthas #2). Exploring another of the overgrown ‘rooms’ in her inherited garden, Lizzie finds herself transported once again through a magical portal, this time to the Louisianan swampland. There she is pursued by terrifying plat eyes, half-crazy men and boys who drive her to an isolated villa, Cypress House, where a sickly girl is trapped with her housekeeper. The Whimsy Bookworm: A Book Blog from India: Hello August!

http://www.thewhimsybookworm.blogspot.com/2015/08/hello-august.html

Saturday, 1 August 2015. It's August and this makes me rather happy. Oddly enough August is one of my favourite months. It's the month in which we celebrate India's Independence on August 15th. To me this is a very happy occasion and it means I celebrate in my own unique way. I spend all month reading only Indian books. Books written by Indian authors, set in India and abroad. Also I read authors from the Indian Subcontinent. It's time for #IndianBooksinAugust yay! Hello much happy reading! Review: The W...

The Whimsy Bookworm: A Book Blog from India: Monday Moods/// Filter Shop.

http://www.thewhimsybookworm.blogspot.com/2015/08/monday-moods-filter-shop.html

Monday, 3 August 2015. Monday Moods/ / Filter Shop. Today I want to share a few snippets of one of my favourite stationery stores in Mumbai- Filter. Filter is situated in a lane off Rhythm House, one of Mumbai's huge landmarks, and is pretty easy to find. It is a tiny little store that is beautifully curated with very unique pieces of stationery, art, decor and fashion. Most indie design stores tend to be very pop art inspired and get very repetitive after a point. Can one really have too many notebooks?

Thursday, 6 August 2015. Vignettes: Suzette Creperie and Cafe. If you are in the mood for a quick bite and want something utterly delicious head on over to Suzette. These pictures are from a while back, my sister and I headed over to Suzette at Nariman Point for a very late lunch. We got a few creppes and I got a Watermelon and Mint smoothie and of course a Nutella Lattte- something I highly recommend you get when you go here. And we got a Nutella and Banana crepe- so freaking good! 6 August 2015 at 20:19.

http://www.thewhimsybookworm.blogspot.com/2015/08/august-2015-to-be-read-list.html

Sunday, 16 August 2015. August 2015 To-Be-Read List. I had decided against giving myself a TBR this month. Instead I organised my bookshelves in such a way that the bottom shelf was all Indian Books which went perfectly with my Reading Theme of the month- Indian Books in August. 1 A Cool Dark Place by Supriya Dravid- read and reviewed. 2 Drowning Fish by Swati Chanda- -also read and reviewed and one I really enjoyed. 3 Brutal by Uday Satpathy- read and reviewed. 11 The Guide by R.K Narayan. My list mostl...

The Whimsy Bee

Monday, January 12, 2015. We've known from some time that Athena, our tan alpaca was pregnant. She was bred with a gorgeous white male and I have been dreaming of her giving birth to a white female. If it was a white male we would have to eventually sell it but if it was a girl, I could keep it. And white-oh to have a white alpaca! I could dye the fiber and have so much fun with it. I had such high hopes. It was a sad day. Athena stood over her baby, making a sort of humming noise. I know she kne...It is...

Thursday, September 15, 2011. We're throwing a birthday party this Saturday at The Whimsy Cottage and the plan is to keep it simple! Our daughter's only request is for a purple. Balloons, and a purple. THAT, I can handle. Here are some adorable party ideas:. Labels: birthday party ideas. Wednesday, August 31, 2011. An Obsession with Vintage Game Pieces. The Whimsy Diaries

Art is just another way of keeping a diary- Picasso. Friday, June 1, 2012. The weeks is up! My last tutorial is here, it was the first time I have done this many in a week and it was busy, but thanks to my husbands help last weekend, I was pretty well done before the week started. What a guy! And yes I realize that putting the above picture of me next to Julie Roberts is sacrilege and not at all nice to myself. Anyway, the costumes were amazing and I loved her neck ruff so here is my version. Thursday, M...
