KDE Hugo: User experience, one pixel at a time
http://hugo-kde.blogspot.com/2011/04/user-experience-one-pixel-at-time.html
Sunday, April 17, 2011. User experience, one pixel at a time. A couple of weeks ago, I've been attending 2011 user experience Sprint, in Berlin. That was interesting and nice and productive and everything, and above all it was my first live encounter with other KDE people, including Nuno. There's been (notably) quite some discussions about how information and functionality should be presented to users, organized and formulated, in order to be complete but not overwhelming, sexy, gratifying, and elegant.

Akonadi Meeting and the KDE SC 4.5 release | Thomas McGuire's Blog
https://thomasmcguire.wordpress.com/2010/05/14/akonadi-meeting-and-the-kde-sc-4-5-release
Thomas McGuire's Blog. Articles about KDE, Qt and C. Akonadi Meeting and the KDE SC 4.5 release. We are at the Akonadi meeting. Offices in Berlin right now, which was quite nice so far. We had the first round of API review of new methods in KDEPIMLIBS for 4.5, and already cleaned up quite a bit. Having multiple eyes look at the API is a nice way to improve the overall quality of the API. We met with Andrey Moiseenko and Alvaro Manera of Nokia, who work on calendaring for the next Meego. So basically the ...

Thomas McGuire's Blog. Articles about KDE, Qt and C. Akonadi, Nepomuk and Strigi explained. Tobias recently blogged about Nepomuk. And from the comments it seems that people are a bit in the dark about what Akonadi, Nepomuk and Strigi actually do and how they interact with each other. So if you want to understand those technologies, read on! This blog post is an attempt to clear things up a bit. Let me start with Soprano. Soprano is a Qt library for accessing. As the query language. 8220;Max Mustermann&#...

Just some lines about my contribution as KDE dev =). Semantically back (from Nepomuk Coding Sprint). Media Center quick update. June 24, 2009. Responses to “Media Center quick update”. Feed for this Entry. June 25, 2009 at 1:45 am. Very nice I hope we can make things like this more as some people I talked to weren’t satisfied about the previous solution. Mostly because they were used to the way windows did it. I hope one day we can stop being compared with the proprietary enemy. June 25, 2009 at 7:36 am.

https://kamikazow.wordpress.com/2010/05/10/the-haiku-operating-system-reaches-alpha2
May 10, 2010. The Haiku operating system reaches Alpha2. 8212; Markus S. @ 10:52. Don’t know if you noticed, but our friends from the Haiku project. Released the second Alpha. Haiku (and BeOS) is noteworthy in a KDE context simply because. And now fire VirtualBox up and give Haiku a spin.🙂. Comment by Tommy.S. The bit...

Humour, comics, tech, law, software, reviews, essays, articles and HOWTOs intermingled with random philosophy now and then. I don't belong to this era of the internet. Posted on Thu, Aug 18, 2016 at 21:33 IST (last updated: Thu, Aug 18, 2016 @ 21:33 IST). I guess I've been online for a lot longer than the Facebook/smartphone generation, but here are a few signs why I feel I don't belong to this era of netizens:. I don't share or forward memes or social messages. I don't play online (social media) games.
