Adventures of a Snappyjenn. Friday, July 18, 2014. Hoar Frost in Central Otago. It was a frosty morning today in Central Otago. A hoar-frosty morning. The first one I've been lucky enough to see and capture a few photos of. There was an inversion running up the Clutha and as it was clearing it left whiteness in its wake. Around the world in eight weeks. Saturday, November 22, 2008. I flew into New York and found my way to Tama and Dale's place on the subway at 150 Mott St, Manhattan, NY 10013-5409. Or for an oblique bird's eye view. View of Empire State Building from Mott St outside Dale and Tama's apartment. Then onto Jeannette and Matt's place in Raleigh, North Carolina. I originally met Jeannette as an exchange student at Massey University back in 1979. One Friday we went up to Triple Creek Ranch. Where Stine, my cous...

Adventures of a Snappyjenn. Sunday, May 12, 2013. One very silly, but lucky, dog! The other night I was walking back to the canteen from the library and I saw some monkeys on the wall around a croc enclosure. The dogs were barking at them (as they always do) and I didn't really think much of it. Suddenly one of the bigger crocs lunged forward and the dog took off. I closed my eyes as I screamed as I was sure this was t. That dog was a very lucky dog. I have some extra grey hairs from the shock of it ...

Adventures of a Snappyjenn. Tuesday, May 27, 2014. Autumn in Central Otago. I recently had the good fortune to drive form Dunedin to Wanaka just in time to see the last of the autumn colours. I stopped at Butchers Dam just outside of Alexandra where the lake was still, clear and reflective. A very rare occurrence in these parts. The week before I had driven through and the colours were bright and crisp, they had faded somewhat after the weekends rain, but still beautiful anyway. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Adventures of a Snappyjenn. Monday, June 10, 2013. And another last day :(. Now it's time to say a fond adieu to Sri Lanka. I can't wait to come back - I found my little paradise here and I never knew it existed in this wonderful country. They're not really pesky, but they are so common - and so noisy! I would love to come back very soon and bring people who I know would love it here also. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Some of my links. The Maternity Nurse Diary. View my complete profile.

Adventures of a Snappyjenn. Thursday, July 04, 2013. On the way home from Christchurch this week. We had a massive snowfall in the south the week before and there was huge amounts of snow in some areas. The drive was stunning - and slow with al the stops I had to make to look at and photograph the scenes. Driving up the main road in Methven. An incredible view of Mt Hutt! Adventures of a Snappyjenn. Tuesday, May 07, 2013. This morning I got up early and went out to the beach front to see the sunrise. The sun didn't exactly rise in it's usual ball of fury and bold beauty. It more sort of limped quietly behind the clouds and did nothing more then light the world just as much as the world needed - no more, no less. No need for fanfare this morning. A nice start to the day, although I did need to take a wee nap before breakfast. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Some of my links.
