Wednesday, July 7, 2010. Wednesday Workings Champaign Style. Welcome back to my Wednesday Workings. I really liked sharing the progress of the projects that I was working on at Judson. Since moving back and going back to work at the bank, I haven't had a lot of projects to do. That will soon change in 7 short weeks with the beginning of school. But for now, I had some time to work on things for our new apartment. Using plastic bags for the texture. Our last project was String Art. We painted two canv...

Tuesday, October 30, 2012. A Not-So-Architectural Architectural Manifesto: or How Architecture is revealing my calling as a Follower of Jesus. This semester has seen a tremendous amount of growth, and I wanted to take the time to share what I've been learning. I think it’s amazing that I can sit in architecture classes and start connecting things in architecture with aspects of what it means to be a follower of Jesus (hence the title of this blog). You see the walls, the roof, maybe a door and some windo...

Saturday, August 21, 2010. So as a treat to ourselves, Katy and I planned a super exciting trip to Chicago before the beginning of our crazy Grad School Lives start. We packed in a lot of different things in the 24 short hours that we were there. First, we took the train from University Park into the city. Then we got to our hotel room. The Congress Plaza Hotel. So we didn't have a great view of Grant Park, but we had an amazing room! Make It Out Alive. Me Myself and I. Lost Without Each Other. Sunday we...

Sunday, November 22, 2009. Sunday Structures 5th Edition. So what is it about good architecture by a guy named Frank? A few weeks ago in Design class, we watched a documentary on Frank Gehry, and I was really impressed with his deisgn of the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, Spain. Not to be confused with the Guggenheim Museum in New York City, designed by the other Frank (Lloyd Wright). I like his method of designing too. He starts with the model building, and then goes to the plans for it. This is definitel...

Christmas Eve was spent watching the girls open presents at our house, followed by dinner and Christmas Eve Service at church. Christmas Day my parents and I headed over to Sara's house for b. Reakfast and playing with m. Ore toys that they got. I have to show these pants (that I most definitely did not buy! Monday, December 21, 2009.

Friday, July 19, 2013. The Power of Words. On multiple occasions this week, I have heard or read something about the power of your words. Coicidence? No, of course not. God, what are you teaching me this week? Ephesians 2:10 says "For we are God's masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so that we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.". Definition of masterpiece: an exceptionally good piece of creative work; the best piece of work by a particular artist. View my complete profile.
