United Palace Theater: This Hidden Washington Heights Gem is as Good as Gold | This Texan Travels
http://thistexantravels.com/united-palace-theater-nyc
United Palace Theater: This Hidden Washington Heights Gem is as Good as Gold. I’ll admit I don’t travel to the northern part of Manhattan very often. I live downtown, work downtown and mostly entertain myself downtown (with a Broadway show thrown in every now and again). When you live in a city where you can find everything you want within a 10-block radius, it’s hard to find the desire to branch out sometimes. Until now. The first – the United Palace Theater. Is simply incredible. From the outside, ...
I Went Down the Rabbit Hole... for Beer at MacDougal Street Speakeasy 124 Old Rabbit Club | This Texan Travels
http://thistexantravels.com/i-went-down-the-rabbit-hole-for-beer
I Went Down the Rabbit Hole… for a Great Beer. Once the playground of some of the greatest creative minds of the past century including Bob Dylan, Jack Kerouac, Jackson Pollock, Jimi Hendrix and more, MacDougal Street is now a place to grab cheap food and avoid (or pick up, depending on your level of desparation) NYU kids. The other thing I love about MacDougal 124 Old Rabbit Club. Amidst the chaos and dime-a-dozen college bars, this hidden spot is well worth a stop. The inside is dark and sexy with dain...

Can you escape this strange room of puzzles in midtown Manhttan? Escape the Room is NYC's newest weird experience. | This Texan Travels
http://thistexantravels.com/escape-the-room
The Strangest Thing I Ever Paid For: Escape the Room. Go to a random building in Midtown Manhattan. Gather with a group of complete strangers. Hand over all your possessions and agree to get locked in a room for one hour. Sounds like the beginnings of cult worship, a prison stint, or possibly, an orgy. Instead, it’s the newest weird experience to hit the city Escape the Room. I couldn’t help but think of Sigourney Weaver in Ghostbusters. Asking for the Key Master. The ClueMaster proceeded to give us two ...

Kill The Doppelganger
People in general are equally horrified at hearing the Christian religion doubted, and at seeing it practised." Samuel Butler. Tuesday, July 20, 2010. State of the Blog Address. And so this thing is left now with very little to accomplish. My second original objective was to encourage my family and friends in their blogging by maintaining one of my own - I love it when they post! The third objective was simply to have a ready wilderness in which I could cry out. And so. . . Posted by john tate. I'm not t...
Whose Mess is This Anyway?
Whose Mess is This Anyway? 8230;Only a Father Could Love. August 3, 2015 in Uncategorized. Well, I think I know the answer to that actually. Im not sure if you’ll get this, but I needed to write to you today. It’s Tuesday here. The day is perfect. I see three and a half tiny white clouds floating just above the mountains in an ocean of azure. I miss you. Some intentional. Others, not so much. I know this now that I’m a dad. Now that I’ve spent so much time reflecting on you. Hold on. I can’t see. Of cour...

ThisTexan'sTake – Life According to Me
Life According to Me. In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “Your Number One.”. The number one music hit in the US on the day I was born was Jack and Diane by John Cougar. I’m sure you know the song, it spans generations. 8220;Oh yeah, life goes on. Long after the thrill of livin’ is gone. Oh yeah, I say, life goes on. Long after the thrill of livin’ is gone”. Check out the music video below. What was the number one song on the day you were born? My Birthday Number One! September 3, 2015.

This Texas Girl | Just a girl with small town roots and big city dreams, y'all. Writing what's on my mind.
Just a girl with small town roots and big city dreams, y'all. Writing what's on my mind. September 14, 2012. Halfway home, driving along the freeway and singing along with the radio, I suddenly noticed the car was making a really loud sound and it felt like the texture of the road had changed. I knew immediately that something was wrong, so I started to slow down and make my way over to the far right lane. That’s when I heard it. POP! From http:/ prettyquaint.tumblr.com/post/10267737182. Well the reality...
This Texas Life
Monday, August 13, 2012. I suppose that's life though, right? I really wish I could come back with the "well I've been living life instead of recording it" excuse. Because honestly, the last six months have been pretty shitty. And the last two have been, well, they've been the cherry on top. I feel like my house is a disaster because it's so cluttered. I'm sure if the average person walking into my house they would say I am crazy. But I see the clutter and it's all I see! I hope that someday soon I can l...

Monday, October 20, 2014. Elyse- It happened. The day came. You turned one and there isn't anything I could do about it. My baby is technically no longer a baby. I held you a little longer the night before and may have cried a little. Your birthday was on a Tuesday, so the Sunday night before I threw you a birthday party. You were NOT sure about all those people in your house! And later after dinner we sang you happy birthday again and let you have a cupcake. You only turn one once, after all! Let's see&...

Tuesday, June 9, 2015. Owen started art camp this week. Monday, June 8, 2015. New additions in the backyard. There was an old birdhouse in the backyard left by the previous owners. When we bought our house last year, we decided to keep it. Good thing, because here's who we saw in it today:. What a cutie. Can't wait to watch him as he grows up. Later we found this little guy chasing bugs on the back porch:. Saturday, June 6, 2015. Here's what's happened since my last post:. I had a baby:. Duplicate this l...

Monday, June 20, 2011. My Dog, Lucy. We have had Lucy for about twenty months. She is the best dog ever and a wonderful addition to our family. Some of the few things I love about Lucy. She is so calm and gentle. She rarely gets spun up. She is super friendly, but not in a sweet, non-obnoxious way. She loves her kennel.it is truly her "happy place.". She doesn't bark (except to yip to let us know she's ready to come in). She minds better than the kids. LOL. She loves her duck toy. See all that hair?
