Beyond Patchwork: March 2014
http://beyondpatchworkcornwall.blogspot.com/2014_03_01_archive.html
Sunday, 16 March 2014. On Saturday Carolyn and I were invited to take our Manipulated Fabric Workshop to Carn Brea Quilters, we had a such a lovely day with a group of hospitable and talented ladies, who worked at full speed to create enough blocks to construct a small wall hanging. There's just a few pieces to add, then finishing touches with hand embellishments and beads, I think you'll agree they are going to look fabulous. Friday, 14 March 2014. Update and Recycled Experiments. Tomorrow we are off to...

Living to work - Working to live: Using PVA as a resist
http://livingtowork-workingtolive.blogspot.com/2012/04/using-pva-as-resist.html
Living to work - Working to live. Gallery 1 - Textile Pieces. Tuesday, 17 April 2012. Using PVA as a resist. PVA Resist is a technique that I guess is best described as batik without the wax. Again, I found the technique described in Sew Wild, the book Daughter had bought me for my birthday. Of course the flip side to this is that I had to leave the fabric to dry over night! The wax dries almost instantly). Then when it had dried I applied Dy Na Flow paints liberally with a soft brush. On this sample you...

Beyond Patchwork: October 2013
http://beyondpatchworkcornwall.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html
Thursday, 24 October 2013. Today's Fabric Collage Workshop. We had eight lovely ladies join us today, some having been on workshops with us before and some that were new to us, but all had an amazing stash of gorgeous bits to add to their Fabric Collages, which as usual gave Carolyn and myself itchy fingers. Everyone was happy to experiment and try something new, colour was added with paints, printing and painted Bondaweb. Here's a selection of photos to share with you. Monday, 21 October 2013. They ende...

Beyond Patchwork: June 2014
http://beyondpatchworkcornwall.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html
Friday, 27 June 2014. Just a quick mention that the Saints of Cornish Churches Exhibition at Truro Cathedral starts Monday 30th June until Monday 14th July. Please try and support this exhibition, there is never enough of these events in Cornwall and a lot of people have put so much hard work into it, from the organisers to the makers. Keep an eye out for our piece on St. Enoder and I'll be stewarding on Friday 4th July from 2.30 to 5pm if you would like to pop in and say hello. Hope to see you there.

Kluckingbear: Unfinished Steamy Fempunk...ya, that's what I'll call it.
http://kluckingbear.blogspot.com/2015/02/unfinished-steamy-fempunkya-thats-what.html
Saturday, February 21, 2015. Unfinished Steamy Fempunk.ya, that's what I'll call it. Another Steampunk project and it's for Sandee and Amelie's Steampunk Challenge. What can I say- I love steampunk. The challenge this month is "unfinished'. This was a hard one for me. What to do? Here it is.my steampunk bot? I dunno what to call it to be honest. She still needs a head and arms, but for my part, as a project it is finished. I reattached the door with copper tape that doubles as a hinge. To cover the hole ...

Beyond Patchwork: Saints at the Cathedral...
http://beyondpatchworkcornwall.blogspot.com/2014/07/saints-at-cathedral.html
Friday, 4 July 2014. Saints at the Cathedral. This afternoon I was stewarding at Truro Cathedral for the Saints of Cornish Churches Exhibition and as promised I've taken a few snaps to share with you. Hopefully I've got most of the quilts, but I couldn't make a note of the makers, but you will see most have their Saints names on them. There was a section of the cathedral that was closed off, but how could I resist this floor, so I managed to poke my camera through the gates. View my complete profile.
