http://threeriverscrochet.blogspot.com/2015/02/those-interesting-fingerless-gloves.html
Wednesday, February 11, 2015. Those Interesting Fingerless Gloves. Fingerless gloves have become popular to make and fun to wear. Here are some samples. Doug made a pair using metallic-looking yarn (a gauntlet look) but it doesn't show up well in photos. Pat has been trying to get together a pair, but I'm not sure there is a mate (yet). But she modeled her glove and someone else modeled a striped one by Ethlyn. Can you tell me what size hands its for? Id really appreciate your time. SciFi Chris here....

Three Rivers Crochet: July 2014
http://threeriverscrochet.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html
Monday, July 21, 2014. SciFi Chris here, with another post for 3RC. On Sunday, July 20, several members of 3RC headed to PNC Park for the annual Stitch-n-Pitch baseball game. It was a beautiful, sunny day, perfect for a Pirates game. The freebie totebag was very nice and filled with spiffy things. There was a skein of Hurray yarn from Berroco. It’s one of those novelty lace looking yarns, that came with two pompoms and directions for a braided scarf. Finally, there was a pair of knitting needles. Here...

Three Rivers Crochet: Steel Valley Yarn Crawl 2015 Part 1
http://threeriverscrochet.blogspot.com/2015/08/steel-city-yarn-crawl-2015-part-1.html
Tuesday, August 11, 2015. Steel Valley Yarn Crawl 2015 Part 1. SciFi Chris here with another post for the 3RC blog. The Steel Valley Yarn Crawl has come and gone for another year. This year, the list of shops was expanded from 7 to 11. It is a challenge to get to all 11 shops in ten days. At least it is if you want to spend some time looking around the shops. It took me four days to get to all the shops. I’m lucky enough to have my summers off. Despite the challenge, I did manage to get to all 11 shops.

If you just want the stuff on the Yarn Crawl shops, just skip down a bit. Reply to comments – First, thanks for taking the time to read the blog and make some comments! The comments were focused on my experience at Dyed in the Wool. I did appreciate the t...

Sunday, August 30, 2015. 2015 Yarn Crawl Part II. 2015 Yarn Crawl Part II. The second day of yarn crawling I did with 3RC member Doug and his friend Kim. We went to four shops on the official yarn crawl and one ‘bonus’ shop not on the crawl:. Dyed in the Wool. First stop was Yarns By Design in Oakmont. It’s a nice midsized shop, with a good selection of yarns. It is mostly knit, with very few crochet patterns offered. I didn’t get a crochet unfriendly vibe, however. Top This kid hat kits. We were greeted...

Sunday, August 31, 2014. Scifi Chris here, more than a week later from the last post. Seems like that once a week posting goal was a bit ambitious. I’m going to try for a new post every other week. Hopefully, that will be more realistic and doable. Farmer’s Almanac predicts another very cold and snowy winter and we all know that FA correctly predicts the coming year’s weather about 80% of the time. Well, that’s what they claim. Some folks would debate the accuracy of their accuracy. Using a few rows of s...

Thursday, February 27, 2014. Scifi Chris with another 3RC post. There’s lots going on and lots to chat about. First is the Good Deeds Day. Good Deeds Day is just that, helping out other folks and making the planet we live on just a little bit of a nicer place. To quote the official website:. There’s lots of different events and activities going on that day. Specifically for crocheters and knitters is the event “Act of Loving Kindness.”. Volunteers will be making chemo caps and baby blankets for preemies.
