Just another WordPress.com weblog. Day 3/21: Idolatry Unloaded →. Thoughts from Day 1/21. January 11, 2011. At the beginning of this year I knew that the one thing I wanted out of 2011 was: to get to know God. I have been following him for quite some time now (almost 10 years in fact) and although I know a lot about Him, have lead others to Him, and have preached and taught many Bible studies on Him, I have come to realize that I don’t think I know. What should I pray about? Upon the top of lofty Carmel&...

Just another WordPress.com weblog. Day 19/21: The Blessedness of Possessing Nothing. 4 Reasons YOU Want to Attend a Homeless Outreach: →. April 21, 2011. 8220;See how very much our Father loves us, for he calls us his children. And that is what we are! 8221; 1 John 3:1. God being our spiritual father is by no means an advanced theological concept, but for some reason reading this verse this morning hit me right in the chest. What is the significance of God calling us His children? He is committed to us.

Just another WordPress.com weblog. 4 Reasons YOU Want to Attend a Homeless Outreach:. June 21, 2011. There’s always a lot going on. In the life of a healthy church and of a healthy believer. 8211; I mean, reaching a community and discipling believers is a big (and important) job and we’re the only ones called to do it. But among all of the ministries and activities to be a part of, there is one that appears especially important to God, which is ministry to the poor and those in need. I’ll cut to th...

Random and awkward . yet cool. Thursday, November 20, 2008. The curse, I mean, gift, of loneliness? I always hear people talking about how Southeastern is a "bridal college" instead of a "Bible college". Apparently, people feel pressured to get married once they're here. It's true that Christian couples tend to marriage quicker. This added social pressure can make the single folk on campus feel slighted. We may think, "Did you miss giving me my blessing, God? Random and awkward . yet cool. Friday, November 28, 2008. My Black Friday Adventure. By 7:15, we were out of the store. I'd already taken Cristy to work, so it was J Birdie and I to take on the world - well, if you count Walmart, Target, Circuit City and the mall as the world. Got energy drink, which is always a good time for me when i have caffeine. I headed to trusty Aeropostale and was pleased. I got a pair of jeans "half-off" for $25 and a T-shirt. Who would normally buy $50 jeans? I grabbed J Birdie...

Random and awkward . yet cool. Thursday, July 31, 2008. Call me lazy, ignorant, whatever, but I'm allowed to rant about things I don't like. Random and awkward . yet cool. Thursday, October 23, 2008. Despite the sadness, I like visiting these "nursing homes" because I encounter such cool people, staff and residents. I don't think I'd want to work in one full-time, but I don't mind visiting hospice patients who live in them. SNFs are great places, but I would never want to be in need of such care. Art Isn't Dead
Tuesday, December 14, 2010. In my teaching philosophy I mention I want students to think about art and functionality and how they can be interchanged, these 3-D images function as both art and science. I also mention in my philosophy that I want students to find beauty in unexpected places and with this project students have to take photos of things that represent them which may make them think a little bit deeper about the world around them. 3 Real World Examples of Net Art. This semester, one of my most challenging classes has already proven to be Revelation. To be completely honest, I really have never paid any attention to the book. I have always thought of it as both above my level of literary patience, and sort of irrelevant to the Church today. As Dr Rutland explained, many people often say, "I love Jesus but I just don't love the...
