Life Of A Foody. Tuesday, September 09, 2003. To blog a food blog. My mother is an avid baker and this cake marks the birth of my food blog - a tribute to my mother. This cake is a staple dessert in my family. Though it was not one of my favorites when I was young, this has become one today. This cake is rich, moist and delicious. In the first and each bite, you will taste. The slight bittersweetness of the burnt sugar. Similar to that of like maple or palm sugar but not quite the same. 1 lb caster sugar.

Life Of A Foody. Wednesday, November 17, 2004. Pineapple jam can be made few days in advance. This is my favorite recipe for pineapple tarts. I use a little bit of vanilla for the pastry. We got the heavy iron pineapple tart cutter at an old shop at Arab Street, SQ. 3 eggs (3 yolks and 1 white). 1 kati flour (1 kati = 16oz). Bake pastry for about 20 minutes. Place cookie on wire rack. When the tart is warm, flatten and smoothen the jam to give the atrt a smoothe shining finish. Is My Blog Burning.

I decided to look for recipe for Nut Brittle or Crunch after I had some at Jake's The Chargrilled Steakhouse in KL. They used Cashews. I found one buttercrunch recipe that uses almond which you can substitute to your favorite nut instead. Tried. It turned out to be as good. The thinner the buttercrunch spread, the crunchier the candy. 2 cups blanched slivered almonds. 1 1/4 cups white sugar. Working quickly, stir ...
