July 28, 2011. Boise, ID to Ontario, OR. Today we embarked on a nine-day, 634 mile stretch of riding that will take us all the way through Oregon and into California! As of this afternoon, there remains only ONE state line for us to cross this summer! We rode into Oregon today, trading potatoes for……….well, I don’t know what goes on here. Distance: 62.94 miles. Average Speed: 17.9 mph. Nope, that's Gold Bond- nice try, poison ivy. Best purchase of the day goes to Tim. July 26, 2011. July 26, 2011. Forgiv...

https://tiredwired.wordpress.com/2011/08/03/alturas-ca-to-cassel-ca

August 3, 2011. Alturas, CA to Cassel, CA. Today we got a fantastic feel for Northern California, riding through Modoc National Forest and McArthur Burney Falls Saint Park. We endured some tough climbs, but an ensuing descent always rewarded us on the other side! Craig, Chuck, and I decided that we wanted to attain a 20 mph average for the day, so we high-tailed it out of Alturas and arrived in Cassel four hours and twenty minutes later. One of our coldest mornings yet (39 degrees! Enter your comment here.

August 2, 2011. Lakeview, OR to Alturas, CA (! Wow, what a milestone. This morning we crossed our final state line of the trip! At mile 15, the 32 of us congregated at the California state sign and celebrated. When I look at a map it’s tough to comprehend–we’ve ridden our bikes here! 8220;I’d like to rest my heavy head tonight on a bed of California stars. From Here I'm Living. Day 64 – 69: Nobody Said it Was Easy, Nobody Said it Would Be So Hard. August 10, 2011 · 11:59 pm. Day 72: Cannon Beach or Bust. I don’t think I’ve ever looked forward to a single date with so many mixed feelings. It almost takes on a meaning of its own, a symbol of our hard work and the time it took us since leaving behind the Atlantic on May 28. And having it in our sights and minds since then, its arrival today is surreal in the least. Live, Love, Ride. Vernonia to the coast!

We shared, half asleep, promises we promised not to keep. Out of fear wed wake up to nothing else, have nothing else. Promises we keep to keep intentions. What of what we feel that holds no mention. January cold beats the days of being told Im not enough. As we make the transition from empathy to quiet,. Its only our intentions that were covering up. Promises we keep to keep intentions. What of what we feel that holds no mention. January cold beats the days of being told Im not enough.

Rougher Stuff of Life

Rougher Stuff of Life. Just thoughts from my readings and my brain and sometimes my heart. Tuesday, February 17, 2009. Perhaps the most recent one I have written:. First Become a Tree, then will come the fruit. Once armfulls of brambles. Spilled from my chest. My rootless feet blew. And scraped across hardened ground. A face full of rips and peels. Just a bucket of dry brambles for the fire. With hebel, wind and vanity. Shouting in my ears . Until the golden silence,. The day of my vision. So I started a...
