A Journal of Days. Forever is composed of nows." Emily Dickinson. Thursday, July 31, 2014. Happy Tears, Longsuffering, I Win! 1 She is nine hundred and eighty-five miles away, but very near in my thoughts. Tomorrow she is finished. My emotions run high and I can't think about what she's done or I cry. It's all good. So, there it is; we have hiked the AT vicariously through our daughter (sister, friend) and it has been amazing. Thank you for letting us come along Chelsea. : ). Links to this post. 2 The di...

A Journal of Days: February 2015

A Journal of Days. Forever is composed of nows." Emily Dickinson. Thursday, February 26, 2015. Once in his life. Once in his life a man ought to concentrate his mind upon the remembered earth. He ought to give himself up to a particular landscape in his experience; to look at it from as many angles as he can, to wonder upon it, to dwell upon it. He ought to imagine that he touches it with his hands at every season and listens to the sounds that are made upon it. Links to this post. Time to Say Goodbye.

A Journal of Days. Forever is composed of nows." Emily Dickinson. Sunday, May 31, 2015. Downtown and the 611. Weekend to get together. We met right around the corner from their art booth at a Lebanese restaurant called Cedars. I like Lebanese food and Cedars was okay. (But it was only that for me.) The company was a lot more satisfying. B. and John rode with us and the six of us had a great time catching up on our lives and sharing what's what. Links to this post. Friday, May 29, 2015. A Journal of Days. Forever is composed of nows." Emily Dickinson. Thursday, April 30, 2015. Take a Walk With Me! Walking up the hill behind the house, I turn back to look out over all the bright green colors of spring! Sun and shadow plays on the mountains beyond the vineyard. The rain is holding off for just a while. Zooming in with the camera reveals green leaves sprouting on the grape vines. Further along the road, in the field behind the Christmas tree farm, is this handsome guy! Links to this post.

A Journal of Days. Forever is composed of nows." Emily Dickinson. Friday, October 31, 2014. Goings On- the Good, the Bad, and the Creative. 1 The fact that it was Halloween wasn't forefront in my mind during the day. So, every time I saw a costumed person out in public I was taken a little off-guard. The result was a day punctuated with little surprises for me. 1a Just a reminder of what's not. So we put it on the turntable . But I did find Lucifer. Ian put on ELP's Pictures at an Exhibition. 1 Our Awkwa...

A Journal of Days. Forever is composed of nows." Emily Dickinson. Wednesday, April 29, 2015. Is Pinterest Fun or What? So I thought to myself, why take up an entire raised bed with herbs when I could have them at the back doorstep, right at my fingertips? I already had terracotta pots of various shapes and sizes piled out back and I had the herbs waiting to be planted. When I saw this idea, I was all in! To put these wonderful herbs to use, here is a delicious Tomato Basil Soup recipe. The world is fairl...
