An empty seat on a crowded train. Welcome to Loco in Yokohama. Sou desu yo ne (That’s so, isn’t it). Took a little stroll around Yokohama last week, to an area not too far from Ishikawacho station. There ‘s a lovely historical district, and a quiet park there with Sakura (cherry blossoms) galore. Here are the pics:. Responses to “Hanami in Yokohama”. Feed for this Entry. misadventures with miso: Shimane Food Fair at Uwajimaya Market
http://blukats.blogspot.com/2015/05/shimane-food-fair-at-uwajimaya-market.html
Sunday, May 17, 2015. Shimane Food Fair at Uwajimaya Market. Something that I really miss is the great food fairs Mitsuwa Japanese Market would have. So I was really happy to find out that Uwajimaya in Beaverton and Seattle would be hosting a food fair with products from Shimane Prefecture! Not only that but they have a really cute yuru-chara called Shimanekko. There were a lot of different fish cakes or kamaboko and items for oden for sale. I decided to go with fresh Sawara Yuzu Kosho which is wild ...

Ern's Retro Book Blog. Friday, January 29, 2010. March Your Way Through Books / Ern's Retro Books (March 2005). First of all, you must remember I wrote these prologues and reviews five years ago. Three years before starting my own blog. On some of the reviews, I will probably edit out the prologue but this one still seems pretty relevant. So, more reviews from the past. misadventures with miso: November 2013

Friday, November 29, 2013. The Alphabet District and the Multnomah Medical Examiner. It was hard to come up with something for this new Grimm episode "El Cucay". I do know parts were filmed in NW Portland, also known as the Alphabet District. This is a good indication there will be some kind of police action filmed. For a couple days back in August Grimm's crews took over the area near Thurman and 25th Ave. Wondering what is at the other end of this? Links to this post. Friday, November 15, 2013. Once pa...

Tone Deaf in Thailand: Leaping to Extremes--Postcards
http://tonedeafinthailand.blogspot.com/2015/04/leaping-to-extremes-postcards.html
Tone Deaf in Thailand. Friday, April 24, 2015. Leaping to Extremes- Postcards. Every year when I go to Hong Kong, I always stay here. It is ugly but it is interesting. But for a claustrophobe, it's a challenging place to stay. I can almost stretch my arms from one side of my room to another. And because I always stay for a month, I usually redecorate. The view often leaves something to be desired. By the end of the thirtieth day, I'm usually awash in nausea. It is Hong Kong- but in the New Territories.

Tone Deaf in Thailand: April 2015
http://tonedeafinthailand.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
Tone Deaf in Thailand. Wednesday, April 29, 2015. The Fire This Time. Someday I will learn never to join a Facebook discussion in which anything important is being tossed around. But yesterday was not that day. When I saw this conversation (abbreviated for sanity’s sake), I felt as though another point of view might not go amiss. There were two red flags here, the first being a true canard, as well as a cliché, and the second being “all good things take time.”. 8220;Oh I see- it's not the rise in the cos...
