Friday, June 14, 2013. Exploring Penang on my own. It becomes evident immediately upon arrival to Penang what a melting pot of people are living here in such close proximity in Malaysia. I had read about this, but it didn't sink in until I saw it myself. there are Indian, Chinese, Thai and Malay people, Buddhists, Hindis, and Muslims all coexisting fairly peacefully. The rain continued so I ran across the street into the Burmese Bhuddist temples to compare and admire more devotional figures.

Sunday, December 19, 2010. It was a beautiful day to walk around and explore the ruins. The intricate detail they carved into the stones is amazing to see. I got a super early bus out of Antigua to get me across the border into Honduras to the town of Copan. It is a small town near a major site of Mayan ruins. Lots of cowboys around town. Monday, November 15, 2010. 1st day more pics. These are the kids who will live in the home: Bailey holding her cousin, Catarina, Daniel, and Lydia. They currently live in the one room tin and wood shack you see behind them. Armando tried to teach me the art of lying block. Sylvia and John take a water break. Bailey keeps me company while I try in vain to bend perfect S wires. Nancy rehydrates with a coconut cut from a nearby tree, they were a delicious treat on such a hot sunny day! On to El Salvador.
