By dividing each floor's façade into 3 horizontal parts, scale is broken in such a way that the building is perceived as much larger. With views to the historic town centre of Hostalric, which features a medieval castle, the plot of land of 400 square meters has been chosen by the town hall in order o build the new library. The main structure is conceptually based on the castle's bastions. Five solid walls, which vary their thickness with height, hold the building. Location: Hostalric, Spain.

As an important added value to this project, the steel and glass structure grows horizontally when it reaches the exterior roof, evolving into a canopy in open air. This allows for the creation of a green plaza on the roof, equipping the building with a second bar or restaurant, providing an unparallelled source social participation in such a wonderful venue in Barcelona.
