Monday, March 30, 2009. Economy took a nosedive,. Now ain't got nothin' to do. Can't add more classes. Got the Lunch Duty Blues. Came up to me and said,. Gotta watch them kids eat,". Oh how it hurts my head. I got the blues. Ain't nothin' I can do. But whine it out to you. Understand that it's fair. Everyone's gotta pull their weight. Just wish for the next month. Korean Saga: The End.
http://katesouthern.blogspot.com/2009/08/end.html
Wednesday, August 5, 2009. After rounding up my sister and dad (with another round of hugs), we managed to haul my 120 pounds of luggage (note: suitcases, by law, cannot exceed 32 kilograms, who knew? To the truck. Where did we go? We went to Chipotle, where I had my first real burrito in a year. You cant have this say the end. As you say its a transition to another chapter so it has every right to be the beginning as it does to be the end. August 6, 2009 at 2:20 AM. So glad that youre home! Living Life ...

Korean Saga: April 2009
http://katesouthern.blogspot.com/2009_04_01_archive.html
Thursday, April 23, 2009. Oh How It Burns! It's amazing how many muscles the human body has. It's also amazing how exercise makes us aware of each and every one. Today I lay back to do another 30 sit-ups, I looked up at the beams of the ceiling and considered the fact that I had looked forward to class all day. That thought quickly fled as I lifted up for the first one, cringing and biting down on my cheek; it's still swollen. I'm so glad I'm going to Seoul tomorrow. As much fun as I had today, I'm l...

Korean Saga: One for the Road
http://katesouthern.blogspot.com/2009/07/one-for-road.html
Saturday, July 25, 2009. One for the Road. When I was little, I moved a lot, each time leaving behind a classroom full of friends, for whom I shed a few tears. (Well, maybe not when I left Mississippi, but in general.). After came the afternoon classes, where I said good-bye to the four little nuisances who followed me all year. I really hope they do well; despite all of the yelling, I had fun with them. (Despite? Okay, maybe because of.). I hurried to taekwondo after that, and spent the last day trying ...

Korean Saga: June 2009
http://katesouthern.blogspot.com/2009_06_01_archive.html
Tuesday, June 30, 2009. For instance, the walk back from galbi entailed walking to the corner where Heather and I took my first post-cast taxi ride. I want to remember the feeling of accomplishment I got from hobbling those two blocks in the cold winter air. And the feeling I got the next night when I walked two different blocks on my own without having to stop and rest. Saturday, June 27, 2009. Testing, 1-2-3 Testing. Wednesday, June 24, 2009. Yes Man, Part 5000. Every day I've been trying to say yes to...

Korean Saga: May 2009
http://katesouthern.blogspot.com/2009_05_01_archive.html
Friday, May 29, 2009. It was successful- only slightly less wonderful than Disney World- and the boys played with their cars the rest of the day, which was a lot of fun to observe. When I used to watch wondering, what on earth are they thinking? I find myself wishing I had a 9th toy to get in there with them. I'm testing out my contacts, though, to see if I can make it through an hour or two before getting my glasses back on. Stay tuned. Wednesday, May 27, 2009. Rough around the edges. This morning start...

Korean Saga: January 2009
http://katesouthern.blogspot.com/2009_01_01_archive.html
Saturday, January 31, 2009. A Wonderful End to January. The last while has been hard because I've been on the outs with my friends. I was worried about having class with one of them this morning, what with being given the silent treatment for an unknown malfeasance, but that obstacle was removed from my path thanks to the $1 guaranteed hangover: Soju. One cool thing is that Tammy knew them from church! After lunch, we went shopping which really entailed a lot of laughing and enjoying another person's com...

Korean Saga: February 2009
http://katesouthern.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html
Saturday, February 28, 2009. Today, I got up on a stage in front of fifty children, one hundred relatives, and was the foreign Master of Ceremonies for today's kindergarten graduation. No tears. No real gaffes whatsoever, really. Reading from the script, shuffling kids around to get positions right. Alice and I tripping over each other only once or twice. And now I've gone and said the e-Harmony thing, so let me throw this out there: it was probably good at one point in time, but they, too, were turned b...

Korean Saga: September 2008
http://katesouthern.blogspot.com/2008_09_01_archive.html
Sunday, September 28, 2008. Plays Nicely With Others. They didn't come with much money (thank you, dad, for ensuring this wasn't me), and were concerned about getting through the first month. That said, if I don't give it my best, and she becomes despondent, it would be equal blame for both parties. In other, lighter news, Sue posted one of those 50 questions things that are fun to fill out when sitting around in a crisp, cool apartment on a lazy Sunday afternoon. 1 What time did you get up this morning?
