I knew it would be different from the slower paced ACTHA rides but I wasn't really sure what to expect. It was a good 2 hour drive down to the competition. When we got there, we got signed up and then went through a walk-through of the obstacles with the judge. 1 - teeter bridge. 2 - balloon plank. 3 - spider jump. 6 - back through bale maze.

No matter how much I prepare, I never feel like I'm prepared enough! After this ride I have a fairly busy schedule which is not going to be very cohesive for riding. 03/08 -Chase has his band solo. 03/09 - We have a birthday party. 03/13 thru 03/15 - I'm taking the boys to an aquatic center for spring break. It looked very well thought out. Not too difficult but not too easy either. The riders briefing took longer than I expected. I looked in the arena to see a horse/rider on the course. I looked down at my clock it was 10:18 - oh shit! I was supposed to ride at 10:30 and I hadn't even warmed up! Obstacle #1 - Mount. Obstacle #2 - Bridge.

Tuff e Nuff Quarter Horses. Tuff E Nuff Quarter Horses. Thursday, May 21, 2015. Von Holten Ranch ACTHA Series Ride 5, 6, 7 and 8. I just realized I didn't blog about my final rides for the VHR buckle series. Rides 5 and 6 we placed 1st and 2nd. Cat did very well and I was please (for the most part) with her performance. I ended up finishing the series in third, one point shy of the reserve buckle. I had a great time at the series and met some really awesome people. Links to this post.
